I give the mileage award to my 90 Aerostar 3.0 v6. 200,000 miles ans still going, and not so much as a check engine light on. The only repair its ever needed(except for tuneups) was a starter. I drive it to the Ford dealership I work at every day, and point to it as an example of Ford durability.
customers 1989 ford f150 2 wheel drive 343,000KM, still original motor and tranny,even timing chain and he told me about another truck just like his on the original motor, i don't know about the tranny but it has over 600,000 km
Okay, I know you guys aren't talking gas mileage here, but I thought I would share a high mileage story...my EX-wifes chevy blazer averaged about 68 mpg. Honest. The money saved in gas was incredible...and that was with a 350 v-8! 'Course, since most of the time it was being towed probably helped the gas mileage estimates.
OK my 85 FORD 6.9 F250 4x4 still pulls 1 1/2 cords of firewood in her bed & 1 1/2 in the trailer no proublem with orig, powerplant. Gone thew a couple of c6's, starters & few wearout parts still she is strong up hill, down hill,threw national forest land and to drop off wood orders and still finds time to take me back and forth to work as a painter and doesnt even complain when I take the family out to play here in northern Cal. and she does it all with 520,000 miles NO LIE I swear to the ford gods.

One of my local auto parts suppliers only uses Toyota 4x2 pickups. These trucks get retired if any major problems occur after reaching 500,000 miles. These trucks are driven hard by different parts drivers everyday. They go through alot of brakes and clutches(mostly due to driver error) and usually head gaskets around 250-300k miles. The bottom ends of these motors are incredible. The retired trucks usually get parted out for the rest of the fleet. There are about 35 trucks overall. I love Ford trucks but you cant argue with that kind of longevity!
Right now I have 223,000 miles on my 72 ford f-100, this is on a motor swap for more power. But my dad had a plymouth grand furry with over 300,000. We did nothing to this motor except change the oil ever 3,000. We sold the car a couple of years ago.
my 78 f-150 4x4's spedometer has been stuck on 130k since we bought the truck 5 years ago. I can imagine what the actual mileage on it is. It still runs strong, in the snow, climbing hills, but it's starting to give out. When we did a tranny filter change, we found small metal slivers in the fluid. Here's a funny swap. Our friend was given a t-bird. He's going to put the engine from the t-bird in his bronco, the bronco's 351 is going to my hubby for his mustang, and I'm getting the 302 from my hubby's car for my truck. There's a big project for the Boys, lol.. Hopefully our friend won't back out. My 400 in my truck is giving out.
I gave my brother in law my 1978 530i BMW with a broken speedo at 151,000, which was broken when I got it, had it for 1 year, drove the hell out of it, gave it to him, he has had it 6 years drive approx. 90-120miles a day to work so if you avg that out he has well over 350k plus, on the same engine, 2nd tranny but only a 3 speed auto. I used synthetic oil, so has he. I have a friend who dad's 1980 Ford van 300-6 auto has well over 500k 1 tranny, alt,waterpump 4 batteries 8 sets of brakes you know the rest. Now these are some serious extremes.

Gotta say something on this one.. The highest mileage I have ever gotten out of a vehicle is one that finally broke down on me this last month. A 1981 Cadillac Deville with a 530ci motor. Well, it has turned over 3 times in the years thats its been in the family it now has 425,000 miles on it. And if it wasnt for the tranny going out which also had the same miles on it. It would still be running. And it never burned or used any oil. If that doesn't say soemthing about Cadillacs I don't know what will.. I always called it a hunk of crap. But damn I got alot of miles on it. But, on Fords my 1949 F-1 with a 390. Has about 95k on the it now and the motor is already going out. Burns oil like freight train. So, (and I'm not bashin hear) I am going to be dropping a 454 in it.... But am stil debating if I want to use my process 435 tranny or a turbo 400. The adapter plate is more expensive then the 2 trannys put together.
Fords first, back about 1979 I had a 65 Ford Econoline with a small 6 and 3 spd. Always got 25-27 mpg out of this, great van, except for it had a bad rusting problem! Along with a few other vehicles, I currently have a 96 Geo Metro, runs forever and has got 54 mpg (with automatic) on the highway. Worst mpg was a 72 Cad S.De Ville, got 6 (yes, six) mpg around town!
Yep thats what mine is. 4-6-8.. But has never worked as long as I have owned it... Right now I'm stripping it and using the tank for my 49. Will mount perfect under the rear of the bed. And will be stripping whatever may come in handy for my 49.
Not high but ol' red just turned 100k. Felt like throwing a party.
