Thanks 91. I just got it a few months back. I have switched the 2 1/2" exhaust that it had on it for a 4" exhaust, just replaced all ball joints, u-joints, shocks, and added a leveling kit in the process. Tinted windows, and odds and ins. Since that picture was taken, I put on a set of the factory 5 star aluminum wheels. I want to put on a set of 285's, but between the cost of tires and rear spacers, its on hold! I will be replacing my glow plugs this week. Just checked 'em and a few are bad.
Thanks again. I was afraid after the leveling kit was on, I would just want more lift!!! (like a 2 or 4 inch suspension). I'm diggin it though. would just love to have them 285"s.....LOL. Let me ask you this... i've been going thru old posts about glow plugs. When people say use motorcraft/beru plugs is that "ford motorcraft"? I can get glow plugs from my local Ford dealer super cheap if I run them thru my work account. But I see where the beru's on the internet are alot more. Are these the same I'm gonna get at my dealer, or not?????? Im confused! And......if they are different, would running the ford's be bad?
I was actually thinking of making it a single rear wheel when I bought it, but just due to the fact that it was "converted" from ford into a dually by centrion I decided not to. Besides that......how bad**s is a lifted dually? LOL
Looks a lot better, what did you do with the paint?
Beru makes the motorcraft glow plugs so yes, they are the same thing. If you look at the plugs you get from a dealership, they should have Beru stamped on them somewhere.
Someone had repainted the cab with single stage paint (which chaulks up real bad). So I just buffed the cab real good to get it to shine up. Temporary fix, as after a while it will fade and chaulk up again. I need to replace both front fenders and one cab corner. So after a while when I do that, I will just re-paint the truck. Pretty sure it will stay red.
What kind of buffing did you do? I think I may do that with my F-250, I will throw a picture of the way it looked when it had the topper, and was clean when i first bought it.
Sorry for the big picture, its just I like to be able to really show off the Truck haha. Its my first truck I ever bought on my own. And I have a lot of trust in it because it is american made.
I used 3M's "Perfect-it" rubbing compound in the purple container. It is a fine cut, so it wont eat into your paint to bad. Like I said, that was on a single-stage paint job. I used a buffer at first, but found better results by hand. Hell........elbow grease never hurt anyone! LOL
