Ah sweet! The non turbo ones that can do 0-60 in less than a minute
Ha! i hear ya! the 85-87's had a turbo Mitsu diesel w/a timing belt, they were good for about 150K, the Perkins is easily good for 500K plus.... granted, top speed is about 75mph, but it gets 1,100 miles between fill-ups (dual tanks, 30gal capacity).
EDIT: that vid must be of a tired Perkins, i can do 0-70 in less than 20sec (pretty good for a 2.2 Perkins).
Them old wore out custom interiors clean up atleast clean up easy, thanks to the over abundance of plastic
Mine before i tore it apart..
And after i put it back together, all the same parts eccept for the lariet stuff i scored at the scrap yard and added on... Still trying to find red roll window lariet door panels..
Ive been using the two rear caps to feed and water my dog since i broke its food bowl.. So ya i got them, but now they are staying food bowls... Ya one day i'll find a set of roll window xlt door panels, i found a set in the scrap yard not long ago but they were both broke..
some really nice rides, I will play, heres my 92. when I got it last year it had 137km and now it has 139k, I added the tow gear old Holmes 1200 commander (bought separate) scrounged a PTO, the tow gear was originally on a burnt GM wrecker so had to re hose and re wire/ re light it, just added a plow last Friday and just bought an ATS kit (used) for it
Nice setup mech! More pics of both the plow and wrecker setup would be awesome! Every now and then I see an IDI wrecker for sale, would love to get one in time, but so far the funds have never been there when they've came available.
Was your truck a cab and chassis, so it has the narrower frame and rear end, or was it a factory box on it?
my interior trim has REAL wood and is going to be very annoying to fix up as it was original to the truck in 88', the tv has long since been removed and the original boomerang tv antenna broken off so i am putting a shell on(non working to save money since i dont plan to put a tv in the back).
7.3l turbo diesel, alcoa aluminum one piece forged rims
