And I never did, and never will swap out a server during peak hours, unless it $h1t the bed and there was no other choice. And then it was down again just a little while ago....
Yep, that's the right way to do it. Only way I can see it being done during our peak hours is if:
1) the hosting company is not based in the U.S. and the majority of sites that are on the same equipment are in a different time zone, and it was during their non-peak period
2) critical failure (but this was announced a few days in advance, but still could have been a bad situation for them)
3) some VP that has no clue dictated the schedule (I've seen it happen)
whatever the reason, one thing seems true - ever since the site got sold, the focus has not been on the users... but that's all I've got to say, 'cuz last time I opened my mouth too much, I got reprimanded....
I'm off to bed so I can get up & run with the pups in the A.M. Have a great night everyone!!
I just wanted to let all of you know that John (powerstroke72) his wife Jamie suffered a severe heart attack yesterday. She is doing much better today. They still have to do some extensive testing to determine the extent of the damage. He has sent me a text last night and we talked a bit today. I am letting all of you know this with John's blessing. Please keep Jamie, John and his family in your thoughts and prayes as they travel down this tough road.
