Well, since my "event" was a one-time deal so far, the doctor is hoping to "catch another one" in a two week time frame. I looked at him and said... "Took over 47 years for the first event to show up... don't know if two weeks is gonna catch the next one or not!" Now while I was experiencing the a-fib, it was clearly obvious what was going on, but it hasn;t shown back up in over a week now.
This coming stress test will be my second one. The first one was a BEAR!, and I'm sure this one will not be much different, either.... assuming they let me finish it.
Im working on my dump truck, with the bare minimum of hand tools that I have in my little shed out here, and lemme tell ya, its giving me a workout and a half!
I didnt realize how much I missed having a shop, all my tools, including air tools, till now!
I saw my cardiologist on Friday, and he has me wearing an "event monitor" for 2 weeks (24/7). I also get to do a stress test and get an echocardiogram this coming Friday, and then check back with him in about three weeks to see if he has a game plan or prognosis.
I'm already sick of having this wiring harness wrapped around me and having to replace those little industrial strength chest stickers every day... those things are going to end up pulling all the skin of my chest before 2 weeks is up!

Pete I feel for you having to go through all of this. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers that all goes well.
Hey, Jim... Thanks, but what little bit I'm dealing with is nothing compared to the stresses you're facing, and you need to remember that the prayers are going two-ways here.
just a thought Pete. why not take the chemically induced stress test?
i have bad knees. after the first test, i swore never again.
5 years later, i had the chemically induced test, and it picked up the valve problem that the treadmill test missed
That's an interesting thought, Tom. Thanks. I honestly didn;t even know such a thing existed. My only real problem with the stress test is the fact that I'm no longer in shape since I quit playing racquetball two years ago. Let me take that back... I'm in more shape now than I was then... the shape just isn't as good!
Seriously, though, I expect that might be a "stage 2" level approach if the first effort doesn;t reveal anything noticeable, and I'll certainly pose that question to the doc when I see him next.
Hey good morning everyone. Spent the about 10 hours today swapping a water pump on a Humvee 6.5L GM diesel. What a big friggin PITA!!! On a most trucks you just pull the fan, fan shroud, and pump right... not on this damn thing. You gotta pull two fiberglass panels on the sides of the radiatior, which sits at about a 35* angle, then the oil/tranny/pwrstr cooler, then the radiator, then the big fiberglass shroud it all sits on, then the a/c compressor, then the a/c compressor bracket, then about 10 bolts on the water pump, then the oil fill spout, and then finally two studs, phew.... THEN since this "tactical" vehicle has a hydraulic fan clutch (when you floor it, the fan will cut off to give you extra HP), you gotta take the clutch off, then the pulley, then the plate the pump is bolted to. Clean the plate with the best I could find out here, a scraper sharpened on a stone and windex LOL. Applied orange rtv (all I got here) and replaced in reverse. Thankfully the team mech (not me coincidentally, I'm the intel guy LOL) and I work great together, and we even had our Doc out there wrenching. If it wasn't for the damn flies (it only got to about 78* today) I'd almost be in heaven. Wrenching on a truck all day with no wife complaining, c'mon you can't beat that!!

And I appreciate that Pete very much.

took Chuck out on Sat ran his little butt for about 6 miles hung out couldn't find a good place to camp so ended up just going home. I just found a cool spot too when I came around another bend in the road and there were like five cop cars, the police man looked at me a waved me over to him. Ask whats up. he said I can't come in the park. WTF? said they were after someone that was shooting a gun. (was a camper firing a few rounds off) and they made a big deal of it. Then the S.O.B started looking over my Jeep and said I was lifted to high that the bumper can only be 27in off the ground, my tire stuck out to far etc etc, I told him he was no fun to talk to and I would just leave, he then told me my Jeep was impound-able the way it is. I know I need fender flares but every single jeep in this state is lifted and no way is anyones bumper within 27in. The guy bumped his head, anyway thats why I really went home, dude bum me out and I wanted to get as far away from him as possible.
Wife said she moving out on Thursday.
Haylee my youngest, won best of show on her Science project and her Pig was name champion at the county fair in her weight class, So she will get to go to Nationals again this year.
Anyone know a place to get some bushwacker fender flares for a good price, used would be a plus. 2001 Cherokee 4 door? I'll check ebay later today.
Also my other Daughter started Culinary school a few weeks ago and is starting to bring home some good eats. yummmm
