The best repair would be to replace the light, and the pigtail all the way to the harness plug.
I agree the solder is the best bet. I have a set of T&B crimpers that along with a little Nolox and heat shrink they work well.
Hasn't rained here in Seattle for over a week now, and it was a month before the one day of rain we had last week.
