Ya know, i remember a time when you could only get 20 gig hard drives, and they were like 400 bucks!

I cant even imagine a 1500 gig! I have a 160 in my desktop, and an 80 in my laptop, and I never have it close to full. Although, right now I do have slow downloads....

Morning...

Brandon... did you guys get any hail this morning? We had a pretty harsh batch of it right about 5:00 AM, and there were several trees down across roads going out of the neighborhood this morning, too.

Oh... breakfast was my usual... Cuban coffe, one scrambled egg, and a slice of "five-seed" whole wheat bread... and a really good kiss from the wife!

Them little chinese fellers can really build stuff cheap now days
The first puters I had didn't have hard drives and the first one I built had a 10 MB that cost as much as a good used pickup now I can buy a 1.5 TB internal for $110
I never liked big HDs for the primary drive an 80 GB is plenty for primary and use larger for secondary. On my laptop I have an 80 GB inernal and two USB externals. On desk tops I like two internals and a couple externals for portability

Ive always liked smallerish hard drives too. Small but fast.

Next comp I build I would like to get a couple of raptor hard drives, then get a nice sized external one.

I bought a Lacie external drive (rubber encased) last year, and I love that thing. Much more convenient than I had ever imagined.

I need a new laptop but that will have to wait. I have to finish paying the lawyer for her reatiner for the custody case. Much more important than a new computer!!

Way more important Jim lol.

We are gonna replace our laptops this year too. I have an acer that I bought for "cheap" around a year ago, and ive put it through hell and back. For a "cheapy" computer at the time, its held up extremly well, Im impressed! The woman has a compaq, and hers is pretty close to death too. I dunno what the hell she does to that thing, but its in rough shape compared to mine!

I bought the ex a Acer quite a while back. It held up well until she got mad at it and smashed it in a "rage" It's quite the funny story. Better told than typed.

J-L wants one of the mini laptops. I'll get her one before I replace mine. I saw an Acer mini for under $300 at Walmart.

Thats a pretty good deal. I was gonna get sandi one of those mini ones too, but in hte end she said it was just too small.

Im happy with the size of one I have, I think its a 15.4. Ive played with some of those new ones, they have like 18 inch screens, thats a little too ackward for a lappy!

I think that it is a close out or something. When the time comes I'll let her pick out the one that she wants.

Yes, but I can drive up to upstate NY or something like that. Plus I'm leaving a complete snowboarding setup with a buddy here. So I'll fly out, rent a car, and hit the slopes hard for an entire week. I'll have my 2nd setup in MD with me, so if my buddy Jon wants to hit Killington or somewhere in Europe, I'll still be set. Might just rent over in Europe though, depending. I need to rebuild my server at home, so I'll be able to back it up ENTIRELY (WOW!!) to this drive, then rebuild & have it working well again. It dogs out right now. My energy levels aren't what they were, or will be. This is typical though: Last night I fell asleep just before 10PM. With no alarm, nothing, I woke up on my own at 2:45AM. Lounged in bed until 3:30AM and then got on with it. As I workout/run/bike more, I need less sleep. Scary, huh? LOL
