I'm so glad I don't live near Milwaukee. With all the shootings, crime, gangs, and all that other shpit. I can't stand half of the kids in my school. 3 of my friends are farm boys like me and I live in the biggest hick town in my county. Half the kids dress like skaters or "gangstas". It's so pathetic it's funny. And one of them "gangstas" I saw walking around on election day with a picture of Obama on his shirt. Pathetic.

It seems to me like all those politicians have their heads so far up their ***** that they can't see the mirror. Who is more in debt than the American government? Are the congressmen cutting their pay? Are the senators cutting their pay? No. They're not. If the government was a private company they would have all been unemployed LONG ago and they would be the ones forced to steal to survive.
I don't disagree with much of what you're saying here, but be careful. Nobody is "forcing" someone to steal. Lots of other options out there. It's getting to the point where crime and "punishment" is such a joke, that I'm not far from thinking that maybe Saudi Arabia's idea of chopping hands off thieves isn't such a bad idea....

EDIT: GO COWBOYS!!!!!

I just realized that one of the liberties we kind of got away with in our own forum was talking a little politics, which is explicitly against the rules here... I hate this place.

I dont think just one thing attributed to it, Mark
All of these are good. I really think the fact my bride was able to be a stay at home mom because I had the ability to make plenty of money is a big factor in my children's success today. The death penalty should be used as intended. Look how fast Iraq got rid of Sadaam. The list is endless. You've all heard of, or seen this. When the camera pans the benches at an NFL or NBA game nearly all of the players will say "Hi Mom". I think that is caused by the fact that a large majority of them do not even know who their father is. But immigration and them bringing their cultures with them and refusing to melt into the melting pot is probably the biggest. I gotta back off here or I am going to get slapped again and I do not need that.

Didn't mean to stir up the political pot here.

It's not that anyone is forcing them to steal, but their options are very limited right now with the lack of any kind of work available now.

Not trying to be doom and gloom guy, but that's the reality of it. Especially in the construction/site work business.

So lets make sure the politics goes away here then because the OT has already been threatened a few times. We really dont need to give them more reason than they have to mess with it.

I thought the theme was sort of crime connected and I am trying to be careful. So what does that right there tell you? We think of crime and our subconscious leads us right to politicians.

I'm really trying to not knit-pick you, but there isn't a "lack of ANY kind of work". There is apparently a lack of work that they WANT to do. Dude, if I lost my job tomorrow, I'd be okay for a little while, but I'd pick up trash, flip burgers, or deliver pizza to make sure my family had food on the table (not saying those are demeaning jobs by any stretch -- just making a point!!). Stealing from someone would never be an option!

My state is in a hiring freeze and is planning to lay off a few thousand employees. That means picking up trash is not an option. Any private trash companies are hurting right now too because most supplied a large number of cans to construction and renovation companies who aren't working right now. I mean there is a little work, but there's not enough to go around.

Yea there are a few jobs out there, but not the kind that could support a family. I'm not condoning thievery, but I know that if I were put in a position where it was steal or starve I would steal.

Yes the guy could do his best to find a job, but that doesn't mean he will get one and even then he's got to wait until a check rolls in.

Plus if someone is really so destitute that they are stealing food to survive they likely don't have a car to deliver pizza and they probably aren't even up to the low McDonald's hygiene standards.

My family has a construction business and things are SLOW on the private end of things. Even the number of government contracts available has dropped. Most of our work is municipal work so we haven't been hit as hard as the guys who do most of their work in the private sector. There's companies that have been major players in my area for the past 20 years (I'm told. I'm not that old) that are doing major downsizing or shutting down.
