I watche dthe moose video. I was so scared it was going to be a moose gets killed video when i started watching. But it was amazing. Absolutely amazing.
Congrats on the baby! Okay Im getting the baby urges! okay they are gone!
What a wild couple of days this has been. Cody went into pre-labor yesterday morning and serious labor late last night. I was a little nervous and scared as Cody is my baby. I raised her by myself since she was four and I am very protective of her.
Hunter Scott Bounds was born at 4:09 pm, CST. Mom and baby are doing good. They are both resting right now and I am preparing to take everyone out for a steak dinner to celebrate.
Cris, you walked us through a hurricane and now a baby. You rock!
Lisa, I'm mulling over your rear cylinders being oily. Is the Jeep being parked on a slight incline? If so, and the miles on the jeep are getting up there your valve guides may be showing some wear. Stomp on it hard at about 40 mph and watch for smoke. If there is not a lot I would not worry about it. If there is, do a compression check, but get a screw in gauge and remove all of the plugs. Write down the results. All cylinders should be within about 5 pounds of each other, if the engine is in good condition.
Thanks Mark. The Jeep only has like 80,000 miles on it. It was Randy's grandfather's. We've had various problems with it ever since it made the journey from Kansas to Colorado. Rough idle and **** poor power the last time around ended up being an o2 sensor.
Our driveway is sort of an incline, but nothing severe. He says he hasn't noticed any unusual smoke. In my opinion the exhaust has always smelled a bit rich.

A compression test may be the easiest way to start diagnosing the fouling, and a pressure test on the radiator might show the leak when cold. Ever used a radiator pressure tester? kinda like a bicycle hand air pump with a gauge that reads in psi. Another possibility is that its a radiator cap on the coolant leak, if it simply overflows after shutdown you'd need to monitor the pressure of the system to see if it increases dramatically ( or if a head gasket is seeping and it happens to stop on compression for that cylinder the pressure would bleed to the coolant system). Wild guesses.... you be the judge.
Welcome to Iowa...
Leo the motor is the old Mopar 318. The sparkies that had oil on them were the #7 and 8. Not a lot of oil, just enough around the threads to identify the fluid.
The coolant leak is an active drip, or so Randy says. I haven't seen it yet. WE got home a bit late and it got dark quickly.
I did look at the oil, however, and it looked nice and clear, not milky at all, like you would usually see with a head gasket. Randy claims his dad has the tool to do the compression test on the cylinders...sounds like that'll be the first place to start. The more I read, the more it seems we have some failing o rings.
SO, its obvious the plugs will foul again. Randy wants to take it to Nebraska next week. lol.
Still better off in a Cummins than he is in a ricer!
lol. Actually I have grown to like that car. I am not a small car or foreign car fan by any means...but Nissan did not skimp on ANYTHING on that car. It is very well made and very tight little machine. Not to mention dependable and gets great mileage. Quick little $h*t too. Fun to drive as long as their isn't any snow on the ground.
Its in the garage for the long haul out here in Iowa.
The little ricer boys do stare at me when I drive it though and I don't like that fact.
If anyone feels like helping me replace the clutch in the Jeep, come on over. Lunch is on me.
I should of ck.the OT this morn and head your way.Instead I cut down a tree in our back yard.worked our butts off but looks alot nicer.

Thanks for letting me rant. We are just devastated.
sorry to here that Jay.
I allways said I would drive a dodge before a chevy, thats why my wife has a dodge grand caravan.
I found another 99 7.3L at a stealership for 7,995$ but I don't really like dealerships very much. I'll call them up this week and see what their story is since the trucks are set up almost identically.
Might not be a bad idea to look at since you seem to know what to look for.

You guys will hate me for this, but we might (we just might) get him a 12 valve Cummins.
Muahahhaaha!
No worries. If it snaps in half red will be there to tow it home. Motor will go in the garage for a rainy day and Jeremy will be on speed dial.
Dont you already have him on speed dial?..
