Lisa, I'm mulling over your rear cylinders being oily. Is the Jeep being parked on a slight incline? If so, and the miles on the jeep are getting up there your valve guides may be showing some wear. Stomp on it hard at about 40 mph and watch for smoke. If there is not a lot I would not worry about it. If there is, do a compression check, but get a screw in gauge and remove all of the plugs. Write down the results. All cylinders should be within about 5 pounds of each other, if the engine is in good condition.
Well, I am signing on with bad news. I know a lot of people do not like cats but we just had to put our cat to sleep because of severe kidney failure. There were no signs of anything wrong until yesterday. This just sucks. He was only 2 years old but he was one of the family you know. He had more personality than most people I know.
Thanks for letting me rant. We are just devastated.
check for an antifreeze leak on your vehicles. animals like the taste of antifreeze, but is it deadly.
it will cause kidney failure, and the animal will die within 48-72 hours of drinking it usually. and they don't need to take in alot. as little as a teaspoon will kill a full size dog like a Shepard.

That may be true in most cases, but I've been told that a mutt that hung around a local mechanic's shop all the time once drank half of a 5 gallon pale full of antifreeze and water drained from a radiator and lived.
The guy was working under a truck and had drained the radiator off into the bucket and when he was under the truck again he heard the dog drinking something. He rolled out from under the truck and saw the dog with his head in the pale and half the antifreeze was gone. He figured he couldn't do anything for the dog at that point so he just left him alone and the dog managed to live!
I'm not entirely sure how drunk the mechanic was at that point though so I can't say the story is 100% accurate.
I was out whitetail hunting once, headed out to a spot before daylight, sat down on a tree stump to wait for daylight, about 5 minutes later I hear a twig snap to my right...a doe had walked up to within 3 feet of me...
When a deer feeds it has the wind to its back so it can smell preadtors sneaking up on them...

Hunter Scott Bounds was born at 4:09 pm, CST. Mom and baby are doing good. They are both resting right now and I am preparing to take everyone out for a steak dinner to celebrate.
Cris, you walked us through a hurricane and now a baby. You rock!
Congrats!

I was busy all day...stopped at circuit city for the close out sale and picked up a $200 flash for my DSLR camera for $90!
I could have bought an identical camera to mine for $189! They had an Olympus e-420 for $350...wish I had a few more bucks to spend!

congrats Scott... and Cody.. she mighta done most of the work on this one... got him a ford truck toy yet?
Well I just got a call back from the owner of the truck I looked at. He says he'd really like to get 8,000 for the truck. Fat chance. If I show up with 7500$ cash he'll take it. I'm sure of it.
I forgot to mention earlier that the guy is in the limo business. He had an Excursion limo sitting there. I didn't happen to notice if it was as 7.3L or not. As for pictures. My camera is broken at the moment.
It takes pictures, but the screen doesn't work when it is in taking picture mode. Just when you're in view your old pictures mode. I'm getting a new camera for Christmas (hopefully) so I'll grab pics of whatever truck I have then.
And don't worry. It'll be a Super Duty with a 7.3L in it.
Dan deserves the gold star for today. Just one question though. #7 and #8 sparkies had oil on them. Is that normal or should we be looking for a more serious issue? I know older iron 8's were designed to burn oil, but this Jeep is a '93 and I'm not so sure.
What engine is in a 93 jeep? Oil on the plugs can come from ring fouling, valve guides, or a seeping head gasket if its near a return galley. Your coolant leak may be related if it can be a head gasket. Valve stem seals/ valve guides usually blow oil smoke at a cold start... if you see a cloud when you start it that dissapears once its running, you need a head job...that did not sound good, you need a valve job....that sounds better. A compression test may be the easiest way to start diagnosing the fouling, and a pressure test on the radiator might show the leak when cold. Ever used a radiator pressure tester? kinda like a bicycle hand air pump with a gauge that reads in psi. Another possibility is that its a radiator cap on the coolant leak, if it simply overflows after shutdown you'd need to monitor the pressure of the system to see if it increases dramatically ( or if a head gasket is seeping and it happens to stop on compression for that cylinder the pressure would bleed to the coolant system). Wild guesses.... you be the judge.

I have a drw bed in Iowa.... but if you are picky about the condition of the inside you might not like this one either. Tailgate is thrashed, bed is beat up a bit on the inside but the outside is good. It was on the F350 in the sig... a machine shop truck... it got used.
I'm not terribly picky about inside condition, but I need a SRW bed. Anything is better than what is currently on the truck. I'll probably get a new bumper too. It seems like someone tagged a column as they were backing the truck up. You can see where the bumper smashed into the bed from curling under and the whole side is toast.
I found another 99 7.3L at a stealership for 7,995$ but I don't really like dealerships very much. I'll call them up this week and see what their story is since the trucks are set up almost identically.
