I don't think there is anything wrong with Cris. She just didn't have a good MOANing.
hah.
Well I am officially scared! This Friday I have an appointment at a diesel shop, first time I will be taking the stroke to a shop. I always do all my own work, but its about 15 degrees outside right now and a few inches of snow, and I ain't that tough.
Oil, filter, tranny flush, filter..and we're going to put her up on the lift and check out the front suspension. I have a bump clunk and upon further inspection I found a chewed up swaybar bushing.

Well make sure you go buy all of your own oil & filters and provide them to the grease monkeys! That is a huge part of their profit! I cured my clunks with a grease job
I agree with Travis there use your own oil because some of them really tend to get you with there stuff. I know how you feel on the cold, I finally put my GPR on yesterday since it was warm.

He quoted me $79 for the oil change. I pay that much in oil and filter when I do it myself. I'll make sure its Rotella 5-40.
We'll take a look at the front, grease if that'll do the job. That bushing looks pretty bad.
No worries you guys, this guy came recommended. I talked to him on the phone, made it very obvious that I usually do all my own work and that I expect things to be done my way.
Lisa....not sure if you have Autozone in Iowa or not, but Rotella Syn is $3 bucks a gallon cheaper then Walmart there! $19 a gallon at AZ.....$22 at Wallymart. Great time to convert the entire truck to Syn if you haven't already

Running syn right now.
We do have Autozone. I was going to stop in the one by my house too, apparently one of our Iowa FTE members works there part time.

Nice! I'm assuming it's not a 7.3 member? Haven't heard about any of us that close to ya.....

I'll still stick to my Schaeffers 9000 at $17 a gal.
I have talked to Jeremy about this.....I definitely think Schaeffers is higher quality then Rotella, but I can only get it that cheap if I order $350 worth, and Rotella is sold locally. My closest rep is about a 4 1/2hr drive for Schaeffers
Kewl.....sounds like a very knowledgable guy! If he works at AZ.....maybe he does jobs on the side under the table? just sayin......
He actually offered me a place to do the work at his house, garage with concrete pad and wood burning stove. Only problem is he lives 40 or so miles outside of town.
I can do all this stuff myself, you know me better than that.. its just that here in Cedar Rapids I have no dry and warm place to do it and I dont want to go lay in the snow. Right now my thermometer on the back porch says its 7 degrees out right now. What I got quoted to have the work done is about what I'd pay for just the purchase of fluids, so what the hell...
SPlit the order or just get two cases of oil and tranny fluid, you'll end up using it in the long run. THats how I looked at it.

Lisa sounds like you got a pretty smart feller there since he put a cummins in his 350.
