Brandon, way to go! You are to be commended for being the type of person who shows respect for the kids and for what they can do. The girls will remember you for ever for doing what you did. When I was on the school board, I was able to get a couple coaches removed because of the way they treated the kids and because of their lack of common knowledge of the sport. Not easy but the kids are why the activity exists.
I'm on vacation and still got up at 4:30am. Going to go and wash the beast here in a little bit and then run into Conroe to buy a mattress for my grandson's crib. After that I will probably work on the house for a little bit. Thinking about tearing the master bathroom shower out and re-installing it with nice, new caulk.
Well, its been a long weekend. Cheer competition went well yesterday, Alli's cheerteam took the championship. Ansley's cheerteam took 3rd place(she was not happy). It was a hard week.
Last Sunday, during a marathon practice session, I fired Alli's coach. With one week left to go before their competition, the coach, who had not taught them a thing since august, started verbally abusing the team. I consider all 18 of these girls my children beacuse of the time we have spent together for the past 6 years. The coach told them that they sucked, were the worst group of girls that she had ever coached, and she was embarrased to take them to Competition. During a break in practice the girls all came up into the stands and were telling their parents what she said, crying, and completley stressed out. I proceeded to march out on the feild and tell the coach that she was not going to talk to our girls in this manner, and she told me, " well, thats my opinion of them." I told her she needed to get her stuff, and leave the feild and not comeback. I told her that I would take the girls to competition, and win it. Myself, the assistant coach, and another parent then went and told the girls that we were not embarrased by them in any way, and that we would be proud to take them to competiton. the three of us came up with an original routine, taught it to the girls this week, and then went and took the championship at Cheer Competiton on Saturday.
Y'all just dont know how proud I am of the these girls. They showed a level of commitment that I thought was only possible of college atheletes, not 10,and 11, year olds. BTW, we competed up one age group, in the 12/13 year old group, due to the fact that one of our girls was 12, and we didnt want to be disqualified for having someone too old in the 10/11 age group.
I am waiting for a parent to send me some pictures, (I was down on the feild with the girls and could not take any pics).
After we won the cheer competition, we had to travel 40 miles to the championship football games. The Millbrook Jr. Mustangs (us) were playing for championships in 3 out of 4 divisions. The Midgets(6/7 year olds) lost 18-12. The crickets(8-9 y.o.) Ansleys team, won 34-6, the termites(10-11yo) Alli's team won 38-12. It was a great weekend for city league football and cheerleading. I have NO voice left, and have no energy, but in the end it was all worth it.

Morning y'all, I actually posted in another thread besides the OT first thing this morning. First time for that in a while. It took me 75 minutes of reading just to get caught up from when I went to bed last night.
Brandon,
I have had issues with one of my daughter's coaches hollering & shouting at the girls, including obscenities (even drops the F-bomb according to my daughter). The issue is that he only does this when no one is around. Since I can't exactly sneak in the school and spy on him, I'm wondering how to handle this. My daughter doesn't want me to get involved because "it's embarrassing". LOL... But this guy getting away with that all year is driving me nuts. Y'all have any ideas?

EDIT: BTW, GREAT job, man!!
This is an easy one with your tech knowledge. Wire your daughter.

That's what I was thinking. A little tape recorder goes a long way.
You feeling alright Joe? I would have guessed with your electronics knowledge and comm skills, you would have already had something set up that would make James Bond envious.
Unless I can hide it so BOTH of them don't know about it, I'm outta luck there. She's at the stage right now where even being SEEN with her parents is embarrassing. Forget about me going down there...
Well it might be that, it puts out a few thousand more HP then mine. I have applied for our local depots here ( Norfolk Southern and CSX) with no luck. Not sure about traveling with a track gang yet.
My hubby works for the RR too. Traveling track gangs are called "car toads".
