Figured I'd tell you guys this little story about a good score I got on some mirrors. I've been looking for some '08 mirrors to put on the truck. I know not everyone likes the looks, but it's something I wanted to try. Anyway, I've had my buddy at the Ford dealer's body shop looking for some for me from a wrecked truck. They occasionally get some take off that got replaced, but only have a minor scratch or something on them, which I can live with. So far though, no luck.

However, he called me last week to tell me one of his co-workers has them on his truck and was going to take them off and sell them. He wanted $200 for the pair. I figured if they're in decent shape, that's about half the price of what I can find them for on eBay. I go take a look at them and they are in great shape! Not a scratch on them, and they are the lighted and heated mirrors, which is what I was looking for. We make the deal for $200, he was going to take them off later that day, and leave them with my buddy so I could pick them up later that evening.

So, I pick up the mirrors and start doing some searching on how to hook up the lights and heat. Only problem is the mirrors I got have a lot more wires in the plug than the pics I'm finding. I mean a lot. The writeups I'm finding are talking about 7 wires...these I've got have 16 wires. A little more searching and I discover I not only have the lighted and heated mirrors, but they are also power folding and power telescoping! Those mirrors are like $1200-$1400 for a set! I got them for $200. Hell yeah!

I was pretty stoked about that. I know it's going to take some extra wiring, but it should be cool. I'm going to try and figure out how to make the factory Ford switch work with them, so it's not a weekend project. I'll probably also pull the mirrors apart to switch the wiring around, making the left-right function work properly, as they run backwards with the new mirrors using our wiring.

I thought you all might appreciate the good deal. I figure worst case if I don't like them, I'll put the factory ones back on and sell these. I doubt that'll happen though!

Appreciate the deal?? Or do mean you like makin' us jealous LOL. Great find Jeremy!!

Good morning everyone (still 1045 out here in SoCal). DAMN- it took me 30min to catch up from pg. 301, and now I gotta take the old lady's car to the base hobby shop to replace all 4 corner pads and cut the discs. Hopefullyet by the time I get done the damn dealer will have my truck done so I can turn in that stupid out of Focus I've been driving. I feel like I'm driving a rice burner.....

BTW happy birthday to all my fellow DEVILDOGS. 233 years of taking names and kicking a$$.

**** off the ex???????.....LOL....No contact of any kind so kind of hard to **** her off. I do have a way of pissing her off though. I put her through college and she has now retired. I could claim some of her SS, she gets the max and I get the min, so I have given that some thought. But am afraid it may **** the children off. Now, the Club, I would like another 50 years of pissing a few of those blokes off.

Thanx, and I meant to mention it too, but just forgot cuz I ended my self imposed exile from the Club, so the Crotch slipped my mind. Even though I have heard it mentioned on all of my talk radio shows this morning.

As Keanu Reeves said in Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure, "all we are is dust in the wind, dude."

You are all overreacting. Hubby doesn't necessarily signify husband

Look here: Urban Dictionary: hubby

We aren't married yet. We're in that weird stage where we are definitely more than just boyfriend/girlfriend but we're not married or engaged yet. I have a hard time knowing what to call him sometimes...so I just call him hubby.

I have a jtharvey SUX society in planning...

Well today has been a long one for sure. Started training today. New girl is smart but very excitable and asks a ****pot of questions. (which is good). She seems like she is learning quickly, I'm excited about that.

I never talk this much I already feel like I am losing my voice.

Well damn. I was just passing along my excitement only to get beat down. I will say this though, I have had a lot of great and very fortunate things come my way, and for that I am very appreciative. I truly do feel blessed with the life that God has given me. I try to live my life the best I can and let the rest of the details sort themselves out. Okay, enough about that. I'll go crawl into my hole now. If you need me, just look for the sign outside the hole that says: JTHARVEY SUX!

I for one am happy for anyone who stumbles across a good deal. Personally I would not pay $1400 for a set of mirrors that power folded, heck I could put in a wider garage door for less than that. For those who want them though, need has little to do with it

Lisa, Its tough training replacements.....hopefully she is not too annoying and is asking the right questions and not stupid stuff.

Jeremy, you know we love you.

Need any company in that hole?

On edit..I briefly read your mirror story but I wasn't commenting on that. I think its great you got a good deal.

I was joking about a jtharvey sux society, just giving you a hard time.
