That doesn't sound like fun at all.

Just simple character differences. You are a mechanic. He is an engineer. You do it, get it done, make it work. If he were to do it, it would take him two weeks or more...and it would be completely redesigned for efficiency...and he will of thrown all of my tools across the yard in frustration. lol.
I got my pump ordered from Norhtern Auto Parts. I also ordered the billet housing and 203*. Truck should be happy with that.
My brother in law is all excited, he wants to help me change out the pump. He's a big gear head but a bit new to the world of diesels. He just bought an old Mercedes he wants to tear the motor out of it and put it in his FJ-40 Landcruiser and turn it into a greasecar.

That pump's not very tough to R&R at all. I think I had more work involved in getting to the point where I could actually pull the pump than what it took to unbolt the old one and put the new one in place. Lisa, I'm confident you could do it yourself, but if you've got a gearhead (like me) working on it with you, there should be no problems.

I'm not worried about doing it myself. Really all I'd probably need help with is getting that fan clutch off, i've watched the videos and how-to's and most directions put in there that most times it takes a couple people. That water pump is OEM, so I can't say that fan has ever been removed.
Ever since I tore my acl, Ive been pondering the thought of going back to school instead of being out in the oil patch, and engineering has crossed my mind.
I think Jeff helped me to break the fan loose when I changed mine. IIRC, it was on there pretty tight.
Yep. I think that's why I'll let Dean (my sister's husband) hang around. He's a bear of a guy and good to have around when muscle is needed.
I think i'll be the authoritative knowledge on this project..which in itself is a scary proposition, but I think I can handle it.

He's a Mechanical Engineer, but has spent his entire career as a railroader. Currently he is the Superintendent of Cars for the Iowa Interstate...he handles the maintenance program for everything that isn't directly locomotive-related.
The oil industry is constantly hiring mechanical/chemical/civil engineers. I'm an advocate for continuing education for sure. You might find yourself on the executive side of the table one of these days.
I am sitting here in the jury pool room for the great city of Gilbert. I am way over dressed for this, I could have worn jeans and fit right in but no I had to wear heels, dress pants and a nice shirt. I am just glad that they have wifi!!
Sheldon- Did you have to have your ACL replaced? We have had 3 replaced in my family in the last year, fun fun.
