In the face of all the sadness around here...well i'm not sure about everyone else but I could use some cheering up.
Anyone here have a good weekend?
We are here for you Lisa, that's what your extended family is for!!
My weekend was great. My oldest stepson got married, he had me introduced as the father of the groom and even thanked me for all that I have done for him over the years. He said that he wouldn't be the man that he is today if it wasn't for me being in his life. Very humbling for me. Jaymi-Lyn was a flower girl. When I saw her in her dress it took my breath away. She looked beautiful. The wedding took place at the brides parents house. The reception was inside of the indoor riding arena. I'll post a couple of picsfor all of you later. I video'd the wedding so I have to wait for pics to be sent to me.
Dan. Sorry to hear this. At least she has the opportunity to say goodbye. It doesn't make things any easier, but very few get this chance.
Lisa. What your uncle needs is support. Sit down and explain to him your thoughts about loosing your dad so early, and how you need to keep him around. If he wants to talk about things, just be there to listen. You don't have to have the answers, but letting him talk may help.
I'll keep both of your families in my thoughts and prayers.
Lisa, Dan, hang in there. Sometimes all you can do is just be there for them. Remember, the good Lord doesn't give you more strife than you can handle.
Jim, glad to hear that the wedding went well. I'm sure Jaymi-Lyn was absolutely beautiful! Sometimes you are reminded why you live your life the way you do and your stepson proved it. Keep up the good work.
Thank you all very much for the well wishes and prayers.
I printed out the thread so that Kriss can read it all. She cannot bring herself to look at the computer right now. I had to answer an e-mail for her to a very old friend whom she had not replied to for three weeks.
Dan/Lisa --> You all are in our thoughts & prayers.
I had a fun weekend -- the North Texas PowerStroke Assoc. Rally was this weekend. I took a few pics, but not too many. The highlight was working on a guy's truck that he hasn't even seen yet! The guy is in Iraq, found a truck online, and had a buddy look at it with his wife. Then had the parts ordered (intake, exhaust, gauges, & Tony Wildman's chip) so they would be waiting for him when he got back. Tony rounded up a crew and we had everything on the truck in a couple hours at the rally. It was a lot of fun!! They had huge grins on their faces after getting back from the test drive!!
I took a few pics, but basically sat around talking most of the time. I'm sure there will be a ton of pics up later.
Below is a link to my Webshots Album, but I can't resist the infamous "butt shots" of the guys getting the old exhaust off...
May not have to replace it, If it is an AFE pro guard 5 then it is a washable filter. If it is a proguard 7 , then it does not like water, and will have to be replaced.
Brandon the PG7 is the washable filter oiled filter.
The weekend went fairly well. Got some stuff done, but never as much as I had hoped... I think I plan to do too much on Saturday and Sunday sometimes. I got the oil changed in the excursion, I bought it in June with 106,700 ish miles, now its 113,330 ish. Average of 17.5 MPG over 7k miles with the re cord tank of 19.5 going into McCormick place in Chicago. It took 1.5 hours to go 50 miles from I80 to the lakefront both in and out, I thought it did fabulous to still average over 19 mpg. Damn I love that excursion.
the question of the day... It had an AFE cold air intake on it when I got it and the air filter is pretty filthy, how do I tell what the heck I have to replace the filter? I looked at doing the 6637 but its more work than I really want to put into it right now.
If you have the AFE then there is no need to switch to the 6637, especially if you have the PG7 reusable filter. The AFE cold air intake is about $400 bucks, and works really well.
Dan, my condolences go out to Kriss and you. I know what it's like to lose your father to lung cancer, being told it's only a matter of time. That's the hardest part, knowing every day that he's there might be his last. I know you're there for support to her and that's about the only thing you can do right now. Man, I wish nobody ever had to go through that kind of hurt.
Lisa,Dan...My family and I are praying for you and your families,I lost my father in '01 and a teenage son in '03. I do know the hurt so if you guys need to talk or ANYTHING,just shoot me a pm.
