Well...........
Lisa and I are going through similar crap type stuff right now. It's that stuff that you simply cannot avoid, but just have to go through it.
Kriss's father has days to live due to lung cancer.
We just got back from the hospital and he is very weak, cannot even sit up without getting out of breath and he is on oxygen 24/7, plus morphine for the pain.
Hospice is being called in tomorrow.
That means nothing more can be done and now it is simply a matter of doing what can be done to make him more comfortable until the end.
Kriss is VERY torn up and all I can do is to be there for her when the tears come - many times a day.
Dan, very sorry to hear about Kris' dad. I know what she's going through and it is not within my vocabulary to voice the sorrow I have for her at this point in time. Just try to reassure her that once this all happens, he'll no longer be in pain and that he'll be in a much happier place. I know at this point in time you probably feel very helpless, and you want nothing more than to try and make it better for her. There isn't much you can say, even less you can do. Just be there for her when she needs to vent and yell and cry and give her lots of hugs and that will be what she needs to get through this time....even though I know that is what you are doing already.

I've struggled with this thought, a lot. My whole sense of being is based on good vs. bad, fair vs. unfair...and its very hard to come to terms with the idea that a good person can suffer an early, painful death...when there are so many horrible people out there who get to enjoy long and health lives.
My uncle, the docs are saying that he should start to recover, as long as he doesn't drink ever again. Just a few more drinks could send his liver right down the crapper all over again. They are telling us that he was literally just a few drinks from death. I wish I could convince him to take the steps needed to make himself a happy person, since it was so obvious that the drinking was a desperate attempt to escape his emotional agony. Again its that powerless feeling, I don't know what else we can do to help him. He seemed okay with the idea of going to rehab. He is such a good person, and is always good to everyone around him.
Mark - Sorry to lash out at you. I just felt like I was being hassled.
It makes one look much more credible in other threads, as opposed to actually knowing something about the trucks and participating in problem-solving.
Respectably,
Pop
Pop if this is for me,your right I gave a bad answer, and respectably I understand.

Scott,I agree these men are the gurus around here and I have learned alot from them, and I will answer with in my limitations are try to in the furture.
Just want you guys to know I can admit when I am wrong.
Lisa and Dan prayers from my family go out to your families.

Unfortunately life is not always fair, my condolences and and thoughts are with you as you make your way down the path of righteousness. As ye drive through the valley of the shadow of death, fear no evil, as ye have one of the meanest f&*^$%n vehicles on the planet. Find the bright side of all things, learn to not let the things you cannot control wind you up...and learn how to tell what you can and cannot control.
Great weekend! Went to my Grandparents 60th anniversary, had a few beers, saw the family. Showed off the new baby girl. On the hour and a half drive home managed to get in line with 3 other nice powerstrokes and we all followed each other home. 2 of them had DP Tuner stickers in the back windows!! Nice little Ford showing for like 45 minutes up I-5.

The weekend went fairly well. Got some stuff done, but never as much as I had hoped... I think I plan to do too much on Saturday and Sunday sometimes. I got the oil changed in the excursion, I bought it in June with 106,700 ish miles, now its 113,330 ish. Average of 17.5 MPG over 7k miles with the re cord tank of 19.5 going into McCormick place in Chicago. It took 1.5 hours to go 50 miles from I80 to the lakefront both in and out, I thought it did fabulous to still average over 19 mpg. Damn I love that excursion.
the question of the day... It had an AFE cold air intake on it when I got it and the air filter is pretty filthy, how do I tell what the heck I have to replace the filter? I looked at doing the 6637 but its more work than I really want to put into it right now.
Its going good so far (my weekends sunday and monday). My girlfriend baked me a cake last night for my birthday on monday. Its chocolate cake shaped like big lego blocks with little blocks of chocolate that also shaped like legos. We're probably going out for dinner and some drinks tomorrow night.

May not have to replace it, If it is an AFE pro guard 5 then it is a washable filter. If it is a proguard 7 , then it does not like water, and will have to be replaced.
Lisa and Dan, I am so sorry for what you two are going through with family members. You guys are in my thoughts and prayers.
Scott- How is Dallas this evening?
Travis- Yes I knew my butt show made it out into the open thanks to you, Robin and Mark. I am just glad it didn't become highly talked about like Lisa' butt shot.
Lisa- Mark is right, you are the lifeline to this OT, what the heck are we going to do when you can't shoot the shiit at work????
Pop- I don't think anyone is trying to inflate his/her post count with the OT, it is just a way to chat with people. I know that I don't know crap about these trucks yet, I do alot more reading them I do posting. I try to chime in and help when I can, which isn't very much. LOL.
Not much happened this weekend here, spent a few hours on the front yard on Saturday afternoon then took the kids shopping. They have been making me crazy this past week while they have been on break, I need some stuff from wally world and they needed to get out so off we went. Drove my the Gilbert court house today, I might have jury duty on Tues and needed to check out the parking situation there. The spots are tiny, dammit. Went to my moms today to visit my little sister, she just had her ACL replaced on Friday for the second time in a year, we got to see the puppies and played with them for quiet a while. Took a picture of Bilstein (the puppy) next to one of the shocks. LOL.

are they different colors or what? I looked briefly on the afe site and they don't say how to tell what you have. I guess they assume no one has ever bought a used truck with one on it. I am thinkin a call on Monday is in order. All I know is its kinda bluish but does not look like it can be taken apart.

Pro guard 5 is molded into the end of my filter over near the fender, on the end.
It should come apart. can you not see a band clamp near where the filter and box meet? If not, just give it a slight pull and see if the filter comes off.
