Cheeto is that OD Green? WTF, looks like Ive got to pick another color for Georges new paint job. :-( That makes like 3 or 4 trucks on FTE alone that have recently been painted or will be painted in the essence of the great and powerful George (or Jorge to our neighbors in the south.)
Got a little more done. Downpipe is in along with the tcase side mount. Also got the tcase shifter done. Cab is back where it needs to be. I still have to do a little floor work for the tcase shifter. Looks like ill need some heat wrap for the downpipe.
Why's that? Just pop the rubber hanger bushing apart and leave the stud on the crossmember. It's the same way most exhaust's are hung, except usually the stud is ABOVE the bushing and not below it. Part of the reason it's called a "hanger"....
Sometimes they're a PITA to get off (everyone Ive messed with has been and they ended up being cut through with a sawzall). Just seems silly to add something more you're going to have to remove to get to something that is probably going to have to come off at some point (Unless he already built that trans beefcake and none of it will ever have to come out).
If i ever have to take this thing apart that exhaust rubber will be the least of my worries. Everything is pretty much just where it needs to be and no room for anything else. If i have to change the clutch ill have to take the front clip off and jack the front of the cab up to get the bellhousing off. If i ever have to pull the motor ill have to take the cab off altogether.
