the sides are salvageable. The headboard is good, shocking. The gate and very rear of bed is cancer ridden. It will have new life before too long. Have a new(er) cab and a donor rig
My grandpa's 75 F250 Ranger XLT Camper Special. 460/C6 2WD
New here, just thought I'd join up and meets some great people. I've been working on, and building Jeeps since I was 15. Been going to Moab since 1997. I've had a lot of Jeeps. This is my first Ford. My grandpa bought it straight off the lot. I grew up in this truck, many many hunting and fishing trips. Grandpa passed away a few years ago at 98. He was an amazing man and he's sadly missed.
He gave this truck to my cousin while he was alive. My cousin never did anything with it, hell... I'd be shocked if he actually owned a socket set Haha.
So there I was, at work, programming my CNC machines. Drinking a cup of coffee. Got a call from my aunt. Saying... hey. I know you've always wanted grandpa's truck, your cousin Brian is wanting to sell the truck. And before he sells it, he wanted to know if you wanted it first. I said... we both know that truck should have been mine years ago. If you want to give me that truck, I'll gladly take it off your hands. I'll have it towed home today. She says... Great!.. I'll have him sign the title over and we will leave the keys in it.
The truck was parked at grandpa's old wood mill for years. We have had crack heads running around there, breaking into the shop, stealing stuff. Never ending. We sold the property and moved the truck. Come to find out, some crack head stole the air cleaner and cut a bunch of wires. This really pissed me off.
I'm going to get her back on the road and start using it as our farm truck. My wife is really excited. I'm going to replace and rebuild what I need to get this to where its reliable. I'm not painting it, doing any body work. I'm leaving it the way my grandpa left it. That's what he'd want. My grandpa's truck. Bought it new off the lot on 5-3-1975 Original owners manual, original warranty card.
DUDE... other than those cut wires, that 250 looks pretty damn good!! After you get it running, there won't be a need to do much else! Looks great! Plus, being an XLT package, it will be nicely equipped! Congrats on your awesome ride!

Thanks, I'm excited about it. Can't wait to get it back on the road.
Were all excited for you. It is nice to get something that is near and dear to your heart. We drove 7 hours to get my Grandpas 48 8N, which he had bought new. We stumbled across it just an hour after we were told that it had been sold (was supposed to be kept by these people to use until we came to get it). The guy who now owned it, knew my Grandad very well. He said he had bought the tractor 5 years prior and had turned down multiple offers. He did sell it to us only because he knew us and what it meant to us. It has since been restored. This tractor has been operated by my son at the age of 12, making him the 5th generation of my family to do so. Yessir, grew up working this rig and very well know how some things can bear a special meaning to us. You have a very nice truck and best of luck for years to come.

Thanks you, I appreciate that... my son said to me, I can pass this truck to my kids. I must have given him a weird look because he quickly replied again... but, only when you're ready to pass it on to me. Haha.
Good looking truck with a nice family history. My wife loves my supercab too. First time she has ever liked any of my project vehicles. It certainly makes things easier when the Mrs. is on board with a project.

I couldn't agree more... got my wife into Jeeps, so much that she has now taken mine over full time.

That's awesome, it's always a benefit when the wife enjoys it too. My wife knows what this truck means to me. I've spent a lot money so far and she only asked to see my invoices once. My response was, honey... you're not going to want to do that.
77 F-150 Ranger, 400 C-6 2wd. Driven daily for over twenty years. Washed semi annually. Beat to hell when I bought it. It had enough strength left in it to make it to the junkyard. Call me sentimental, but I saved it.
I had the engine rebuilt in my 78 F-250 Supercab 2 years ago and the top half went bad. I didn't realize I had to use special oil in it to protect the camshaft and it ate itself up. So I pulled the motor and transmission to have both rebuilt because the tranny was leaking badly. While I was waiting to get the motor and tranny back I did the brakes from front to back, everything new. so now she's back together running and stopping like a champ.
