I am in the process of making the 79 crew 4wd. I am doing the 79 half ton style on the front with a coil sprung dana 60 and a dana 80 disc brake in the rear. She is my baby.
Did someone put the 460 in your 77 or make it 4wd? Or did you? Ford didn't offer a 460 in a 4wd truck until 86 or so.
I am looking for a good hood for my single cab right now. And a independent 205 transfer case mount for my 79 crew cab.
Yes I did put the 460 in the truck. It originally had a 400.
I am in the market for a good rust free roof off of a 73 - 79 F100, F150, F250, or F350. Of course I would prefer one from a crew cab but the odds of finding that are almost nill. I am also in the market for a decent bench seat, and dash pad. Also a set of aluminum wheels 16" or 16.5 x 8 on 6.5" minimum of 10" wide.
If I could find a good deal on both rims with decent all terrain tires I would be interested.
Well I know where there is a cab sitting on a frame. It is a crew cab. I don't know what shape it is in. I have asked about it before and didn't get an answer. I will call him again. If it had a good roof and door parts it would work for both of ya'll. How much would that be worth for the cab to pull those parts from?
If the cab is in decent shape I would be interested in purchasing the whole cab but I would need to see it before putting a price on it. The same goes for just the roof, I would need to see it.
I am trying to find out if he is going to sell it. I have been having a hard time getting an answer on it. I have been asking for 3 months. If I find out I will let you know for sure.
that would be kinda neat to take 2 crewcabs and weld one on top of the other make a homemade double decker crew. if i can find another cab i just might try it!
Hi, new to the thread, I have 3 crews one 78 2 wheel, one 76 highboy and one 77 highboy.
The 76 I am building and am looking at doing a power steering conversion from benchworksteering.com. Has anybody delt with this set up?

wow thats pricy! wonder what box that is looks liek a bronco one, maybe you could get most the parts off other vehicles used and then just get he steering arm and the shaft form them to save some bucks
I own a 1977 F250 RangerXLT CrewCab HighBoy 4SP,NP205,60's F/R all original. Except motor, lockers and tires. go to my garage if you want to see pics of it and some of the spec's.
Here's a pic..
mytybug...is your 78 a 2wd?? I've done a conversion similar to this...but i sit the box back a little closer to the cross member so I don't have to cut as much out from the core support.
Truck nut the 78 is a 2wh and it is a donor truck. I am useing the 400m it only has 3000 miles on it and the cab is near mint. I don't really want to do mod's to the frame, so what ever you have for wisdom I would be happy to hear
