If you bought your truck with fuel prices in mind, then you bought the wrong vehicle. Fuel prices are only going to get higher folks.
But I don't want to hijack this thread....
Not to be mean or anything - but no ***** sherlock. I didn't buy this truck for economy, I bought it to pull my 31ft TT. I know what the prices of gas is/are going to be and I wasn't complaing as much as just making a statement. I suppose you'd say I should have bought a diesel...
OK - no hard feelings now

No hard feelings. I have pretty thick skin. I think I knew what you were trying to convey, but I just couldn't let it go.
As for suggesting you go with a diesel -- HECK YA!!
Good points that we need one for East and one for West. I also believe we need to keep in mind areas that are "family destinations". If I am spending money on this trip I would want to bring my family but need to be able to offer them things to do. Gatlinburg definitely would work and so would the Outer Banks.
We all have our engine preferances, but ya i wonder y george never posts anymore? hmmm
As my sig states I am very much a newbie here. Is there a division in this Forum -- Gassers Vs Diesel? If so, I didn't know. I was just giving him some crap.
IMHO, there's nothing wrong with either engine platform. In fact I considered getting a V-10 Ex and putting a blower on it but for what I do, that would be impractical. The diesiel version made better sense to me....off track -- sorry.
Your suggestion of either Coast doesn't make it any easier for me. I can't go all the way out to a Coast without airfare and then I wouldn't have my Ex there to participate. Maybe there's no right answer. If enough people got together we could have regional meetings. That way the Midwesterners like me, could meet in De-troilet, MI and maybe tour the Ford plant while the Coasts did their own thing?
I dont know but either way this meet is going to take alot of planning but i am serious though about this meet. Do u think someone should start a east coast thread and a west coast thread? If u guys want to start a east coast and west coast thread, ill call george up and tell himto get his a** online haha
You aren't being ignored...we're just chatting and wondering where George is while compiling poll data...did you vote?...last time we 'tried' to organize a 'meet'...well we had a poll to see what we would poll then our poll choice was the Ky plant which due to security reasons...yadda yadda...
Based on the numbers so far...looks like East meet would be Gatlinburg (i've been there and it is killer)...and West meet would be Denver...although I'm pulling thru Denver next June...so if it worked out...I'd stop there TOO!!!
Don't think you are being ignored...you're not...you wouldn't happen to know where George is...do you?
Joe, ill call him tonight and see where the hell he is. By the way, wheres gatlingurg? never been there nor heard of it. Also how far is it from cleveland ohio?
Gatlinburg is in Eastern Tennessee. Right on the edge of the Smokie Mountain National Park...an INCREDIBLE place for sure. Pigeon Forge is right there.
I rode a road down there called 'Deals Gap' on my RoadKing. 11 miles long and 318 CURVES!!!...can you imagine 20 Excursions LUMBERING down that road!!! http://tailofthedragon.com/
Cleveland is on the most northern/eastern edge of Ohio...about 4 hours from Fort Wayne on Rt. 80...you have the Rock and Roll Hall of fame there?
Give George a call...
I think you have some other 'options' for an East meet as you are saying...we'd need Nick and the other west coasters to chime in on where they would like to meet...like I said...I'm making a loop in June thru Grand Canyon, Hoover, Vegas, Bryce, Zion, Arches and Denver OVER Eisenhower pass at 11,400' with my TT in tow behind my V10!!! WOOHOO!!!

You can't get there from where you are
I should have met up with you this past summer when we did our Cedar Point/Erie trip - we passed right thru Cleveland... your roads SUCK! I was white knuckling thru there and when we stopped I had to pull the leather out of my a$$ - it got kind of tight thru some of those turns thru town and along the lake.
Anyhow - if you were serious - Gatlinburg is in Tenn, about 9 hours from you. Dollywood ain't to far from there.
