my 89 4x2 has 150000 on bone stock everything including mazda 5 sp tranny, but doubting its life, may be time for a new bearing in the rear of the tranny.
1984 F-150 4x4 300-6 4 spd....297,000 miles to my knowledge (this is what i'm told by somebody who knew the person that traded it off before i got it) fresh tune-up, runs like a raped ape compared to what it did do, leaks oil, but that's ok, i figger i'm just helpin the county keep the roads tarred, no known rebuild as of yet...gas mileage is probably nowhere near what it should be, but haven't had the chance to check...prob. gonna put a new carb on it before too long, unless i choose to tear it down and rebuild it from bottom up

My 1977 F150 just turn 303,000 miles. The head has never been off this motor and it has never had anything major done to it other than 2 waterpump replacements. The motor still does not burn an oil. I would guess that part of its longetivity is due to the fact that it has always had its oil changes done every 3K miles. The sad part is that while the engine is running great, the truck is rusting away to oblivion.
I just returned from a trip from georgia and My ole I-6 Just turned 255,000 miles on it. She ran like a champ and I got bout 500 miles between both tanks. Not on problem. It also did really good up in the mountains. Its a 1991 xlt Lariat ext cab.
285,000 on my 1988 F-150 with M5OD 5-speed. Original engine and burns/leaks no oil. Not one single engine problem yet. Not quite as strong as she used to be, but ultra-reliable. The 300 straight-six is one of the greatest engines ever made. Not the most powerful, not the most efficient, but dammit, it runs forever.
stephens: I've talked to a couple of machinists, and they say the #1 cylinder always wears the most. Something to do with being behind the water pump..
