I have a 96 with 130,000 on it and it looks and runs like new. A friend of mine had a 86 with 436,000 on it when he bought it for $400 and it ran great. He sold it for $800. The previous owner scratched every oil change into the door jamb and the jamb at the cab was covered as well as the door itself. In 86 the odometer only registered ten thousands and with him doing this you could see every time that the odometer rolled over. He had the truck long enough to put one oil change onit and he said it didn't get rid of a drop. I bet a Chevrolet wouldn't run this long without burning a quart every mile.
Hey hey hey now... be correct. Leaking a quart every mile... burning a quart every time it's started. If we're gonna be technical, then let's be technical.
I know it has rolled over more than two times but not sure how many it had been sitting for 10 years when i got it from my Aunt new plugs gass and it runs great 1965 F100 240 I 6
I have 125,989 . Replaced fuel pumps and pick-up coil 1 year ago. also replaced valve cover gaskets. I am starting to get a miss on acceleration. I hope to figure out the problem soon. Motor seems great.
i have a 1987 f-150 with a C6 and a 300 inline 6, with 130,00 kms on it, start no problem in -30 degree weather without being plugged in, i love that truck, i think i'll drive it into the ground then rebuild it. that'll be another 10 or 15 years at least, my stepdad bought the truck in 91, we both drive it, and we both love the truck, FORD ALL THE WAY, it was our first ford, and it's been the best vehicle hands down for reliablility and durability
ok, I don't want to sound like a goon here but, I used to be stationed in Valdosta GA. and one of my friends and I went to this concrete plant to look at some fleet vehicles that they had for sale out there. All of them were '92-'93 and 2 wheelers.
1 had 275,000, another had 220,000 and the last one we looked at had 380,000 miles on it. The sad thing was, the one that had 220,000 had a leaky head gasket and the one with 380,000 had only had a water pump put on it. I was amazed. The 275,000 mile one had cold AC still....Pretty funny for mainly abused vehicles.
