1990 Ford F150 XL, 132K. Not much to look at anymore, but it has been doing its job since the day I drove it off the lot. My first ever brand new vehicle.
My '85 has 246,000+ on it, after I had it a while I maxed the timing and put on a full 3in. strait pipe, it has never lost power, only gained, this truck runs great, it likes to get the ***** beat out of it, it runs best when I drive it every day and WOT, it seems to like getting fuel ran thru it, do others feel the same way? Ever had a vehical that ran best when it got drove hard and every day?
Let's see here, 65 f-100, has the 3.9, odometer says 97xxx, but the odometer is only 5 digits long, so it either has 97xxx, 197xxx, 297xxx, or higher! it doesn't run great, having many seal problems and inexplainable misfires, so it's getting yanked, throwing a diff 240 in, and this one will be rebuilt into a 4.9 at some point, 5500 cam, stroke it to be the 4.9, efi exhaust manifold, Offy intake manifold and a 4 barrel (It will probably be an edelbrock not a holley, but who knows at this point!)
1992 Std Cab, Short Bed F150 custom. 189,400 Original Motor, M5OD, 2.73 rear gear (way to high for a truck IMHO).
Bought about 15K miles ago for $1000, Vehicle history checks seem to hint that I am at least the third owner. The truck has a little rust on it but nothing terrible. So-far the engine is very solid, no weird noises and very little blow-by, drinks about a quart of oil every 3000 miles or so. Seems to get about 13-15 MPG regardless what I do with it. Transmission is well worn, I have some difficulty getting it into second when the truck is cold, but that goes away when the truck warms up. I have a spare M5OD that I pulled off a 93 siting around ready to go for whenever this one ends up blowing up.
Absolutely love the truck, does everything I want it to do and then some.
