Good morning Oregon and everyone everywhere else. 31, overcast and looks like Rain. Have to go down the mountain this morning via Bend. Looking like a fun trip with Rain and maybe even a little snow.
Good morning Oregon and everyone everywhere else. Been hanging at 6 all morning. The sun popping up over the tree line doesn't seem to have made much difference. Blue sky with some scattered wispy clouds at the moment so I suspect we will see a jump in temp before too long.
Back at Bravo. Have to go back to the valley tomorrow. Some work around Alpha to get done and I'm hoping it is dry enough to do it.
Took the Kawasaki in to get the rear-view camera installed and the side mirrors. Mirrors I could have done myself as the mount to existing hinges but since they had it for the camera.....
Supposed to be done Tuesday afternoon. Told them I would pick it up Wednesday morning. Got a text saying Wednesday morning saying they couldn't install the camera, that I needed an $850 Multi-Function display install in order for the camera to work. Asked them why that was as my owners books, Kawasaki Owners Center Accessory installation manual all say my Meter and Instrument LED Display panel in the machine is used for this. The display in the Ridge even has selection functions for a front and rear camera. They currently are grayed out and need the camera to be functional. I told them what my manuals said and that the camera functions were on the large LED meter display, but they said it needed that $855 extra display accessory. Told them to cancel the camera and installation, button her up and that we were on our way to pick up our machine. When I got there, they did have the mirrors installed. I asked about the $655.00 deposit I had on the camera, wiring harnesses and the installation labor. They said that that money had been applied against the plow parts and replacement as Warn has not covered that. Asked why I wasn't told that was not covered by warranty and reminded them that I told them I didn't want that plow and wanted it replaced with the Kawasaki system. No real response other than, "Thats why we are not dealing with them on your plow now".
I can say that I got a very good deal on the Ridge purchase, but that is where it stopped. Everything after that has revealed an operation that seems to be orientated toward sales and not service. Post sales with Powers is FUBAR so it's a buyer beware sort of place.
I talked to Wildhorse Kawasaki in Bend at the Redmond Sportsmen's Show last month and laid the groundwork with them. So anything I need now, we'll be going to them. They told me it didn't matter if I bought the unit from them or not. They would be more than happy to get the plow, camera or any other accessories I wanted and do any warranty work I needed.
On the bright side. It was a beautiful day coming over the Santiam Pass yesterday. The snowcapped mountains were out in all their splendid glory. Got some pictures, did some sightseeing and even played tour guide for an out of state tourist. I gave them directions on how to get back to California!
