Good afternoon Oregon and everyone everywhere else. Been snowing off and on all day at Bravo Compound. We've even had snow falling in the sunshine!
Found a couple of pictures from days of yesteryear with one of my horses circa 66-67. I was probably 14 or 15 at the time. Takes the picture to prove to me that I was ever that young. Snoopy, (Ivycrest Malhuer Lu, Foundation Registery Aphc). We won the Regional Appaloosa Horse Club Championship mare over all age groups. Edit: Sister found the trophy at her place. It was 1968 making me 15-1/2. She also found my Junior Showmanship award from the same show.
I also won the Junior Showmanship Award that year. We worked cows, sheep, trail, Western Pleasure and Equitation. She was also a hunting horse. She had a character and attitude of no other horse I ever had. There was nothing she couldn't get into or out of. She had to have special catches and latches on her stall door and the pasture gates. You had to take special precautions when tying her up as she was adept at untying herself. Lots of funny stories about her.
Good morning Oregon and everyone everywhere else. 21 and starting to climb. Heavy snow at the moment and it appears to be getting heavier.
Well the clouds parted. offered some teases and then stared obscuring the view again. Did get some views and pictures. Got the totality, but then some of the clouds started moving back in and all I got were some partial obscured views as it returned to a full moon state. I was able to get a few pictures anyway.
Good morning Oregon and everyone everywhere else. It was 28 degrees this morning when the dogs decided it was time to go out and play. Plenty of snow. From around 2" in the tree / protected areas to 4 to 5" in the open. Bottom steps to the porch are pretty well covered. Spring is 5 days away.
Jim the actions I've been looking at have metal building.
I've been looking at a metal building for over a year now. Did some pretty serious digging into them win West Salem / Eola at the plant there and at the State Fair. On the face they look pretty reasonable. But, that's the basic roof only. Start adding sides and fronts, heavier snow loads, wind loads and anchor, stropping....they get very expensive in a pretty big hurry. An Ag style two bay 4 sided pole barn would be much cheaper. Lately, I've been checking into the prefab sheds. I've seen several of them that are pretty reasonable and would fit the Zero Turn and its attachments along with the snow blower. That may just barely give me the extra space I'm looking for.
