Starting the day at 54° with a chance of rain this afternoon.
I worked on the Bronco exhaust some yesterday after we got back from the city. I wore my new safety glasses for about an hour, they work better than my old ones but they kind of have large frames that are a little hard to get used to.
Luckily, we don't have many ticks out here. We were back in Kansas a few years ago, we walked out through the deep grass to look at my uncle's new pond. Holy cow the ticks were thick, I had shorts on white socks and short hiking boots. The ticks were crawling up my socks like I was standing in an Ants nest.
Good morning WA...Happy Hump Saturday!!! Had some boomers yesterday...golf ball hail reported in local towns. Today is gonna be in the low 90s with increased humidity...hope MA Nature is taking good care of you.
Locally...a moose wandered onto a street and laid down...obviously injured as it couldn't get up...Environmental Police had to put the critter down...
Happy Hump Day Washington, Tim, Ken, Steve, Bud and all the crew. It looks to be another 80's and partly sunny day in WV. The late this evening rain and storms move in for the next 7 days.

Ken, I read in Fur Fish and Game that they will be raising the take for Moose in the state of Maine due to the ticks are so heavy and causing calf mortality. As many as 90K ticks on one animal. Maybe this moose was just trying to get down to an area where there were less ticks!

We occasionally see moose in the area...not that often though. Not sure why the moose chose to lay down in the road...but...the Environmental Police decided it needed to be put down. As for coming from Maine...moose have been known to travel long distances...up to 500 miles. Things that make you go hmmm.
Good morning Washingtonians...Happy Weekend Eve!!! Gonna be a splendiferous early summer day here...mid 80s under sunny skies and low humidity...hope it's at least as nice in your little slice of heaven!!!
Thanks for checking in Roy, even though it looks like you thought you were in Virgina!
Kind of a late start today. Looks to be a nice day today so far, starting at 60° and just a tad of a breeze. They say we are going to get up to 70° today.
Headed to the big city today to pick up my new Safety glasses.
The story about the ticks is crazy..... I used to live in Vermont and New Hampshire and Maine. We had some ticks. Had to check the dogs all the time, but it wasn't that bad...
Wow.... I wonder if we are killing off a predator of ticks....
Gray cloudy morning in Montana..... 46°F with 10 - 15 mph winds.... Not encouraged to get yard work done.....
