Starting the day at 60° on its way to 80 plus, they say this is the last 80° day for the foreseeable future.

Headed out to pickup two ton of grass hay this morning.

Stunk up my house for a week, and ruined, imho, about 20 jars of what could have been delicious strawberry jam. That was the last time that ever happened.
I thought the same thing about jalapeno anything jam until I moved into a house with peach trees in the back yard and the neighbor introduced us to peach jalapeno jam.
First thought was yuck but boy was I wrong on that.

Tim, you might know the answer to this:
Does our area utilize terrestrial or copper line telephone systems anymore or is the phone system relegated to internet only now?
Also, is the old CATV systems still in place or is it all internet streaming only?

Evening Tim. Wayne and Mc. Nice here today. So good to have humidity better.

I felt the same way about jam with peppers in it but it is an acquired taste. I can go it but prefer just the fruit and not the peppers. I'll save my
Jalapenos for homemade poppers!

I saw that rain was coming later today finally so I spent a good 5 1/2 hours mowing the whole grass and did some weed wackin! I'm hoping it'll be the last mow of '24 but I'm sure I'll have to do it again.

I've got lots of vehicle projects I need to get to! Haha

My MIL has one of those. I bought my wife one of those Professional Kitchen Aid mixers that you can add attachments to. We talked about getting the sauce maker for it. Would definitely make that process faster and easier.

Among the many projects I'm in the middle of, I took advantage of some good weather today and started the paint process on my pop machine. The wind was calm and the temp didn't get above 85, and was upper 60's to mid 70's in the morning when I was spraying. As soon as it's dry enough to tape on and the weather is right I'll spray the red and put it back together. It's a mid 70's Vendo Coke machine that will look more like 1962 when I'm done. The pics here was about 3pm when I pushed it back inside. It was still just a bit sticky but turned out really slick.

I like the jalapeno/fruit jam but not as much as regular fruit jam, I think my favorite is orange marmalade.

Ken, I've been out of the business now for three and half years and boy has it changed in that time. Shortly before I retired there were 11 guys I think doing phone and DSL installs and repairs here locally now there are three. It sounds like most the phone and internet has gone to the fiber network. I just don't think there is much landline phone any longer. Shortly after I retired we dropped our landline and switched our internet to the CATV network, there is no fiber in my area. We don't have cable TV just use the CATV network for internet and stream the TV entertainment.

In my experience with going to fiber internet at 2 different houses is they like to pull your landline off of copper and put you on the fiber. Old house they included a battery backup for equipment for emergency calls but at this house they didn't offer a battery backup for equipment or a way to use landline if power goes out.

At my last house I made them keep my landline on copper and internet on fiber because it was a requirement back then with my ADT alarm to be on copper.

Good morning Washington

It rained just a little this morning. Maria and I hauled in two ton of hay yesterday and got it stacked in the hay barn before the rain started.

We don't even have fiber where I am at. Stuck with the cruddy service of Comcast Xfinity
Waiting for Ziply to come in which is slated for the near future so they say.

I can get phone from Comcast but is voip, but the streaming service fades in and out depending on neighbors usage and seems like that could be a problem for phone usage too.
I should check to see if Frontier is still servicing area.

Nope! Ziply bought Frontier a little over 4 years ago. I retired under Ziply. In my 30 years I worked for 4 different companies and never changed jobs.

Was that starting with General Telephone, or were they bought out by then?
