Belated good morning Oregon and everyone everywhere else. Very oogy and 30° at 0630 this morning. Ground level fog has now burned off and some low hanging fruit is all but gone. Looks like blue skies before too much longer.
Phone calls all morning long. One of them was from my primary hunting and fishing buddy. He told me he took his Dodge 1500 in for new tires, an oil change and a couple of minor maintenance issues yesterday afternoon. He went in to pick it up this morning and "it had transformed into a 2023 3500 Laramie"..
Got an unbelievable deal on it. Apparently it was a special order truck that someone messed the order up on. It came with the Laramie bucket seats in front and the fellow ordered bench seats, so he refused acceptance / delivery. Wish I could run across an F350 DRW 4X4 King Ranch or a 450 King Ranch in a deal like he got.
Gary and his wife drove up this morning in their new Dodge Ram. He didn’t mention that it was a short box. Had a good visit.
Elk - cows & calves - came to visit last night right after dark and are back tonight. Spent all night and didn’t leave until 0630 this morning. A couple of them laid down in front of one of the cell cams. Every time they would twitch an ear…finally shut off the audible alert notification and turned the phone face down.
We’ll be heading down the mountain for Doc appts and Thanksgiving ourselves today. The snow storm they were predicting has arrived. They said the snow level would be above 5000’. We’re at 4400’….it’s going to make driving down the mountain to the valley this afternoon less boring and add some adventure to the first 50 miles. Willamette & Santiam passes are looking a just a little sloppy. Maybe they’ll be thawed out a little by the time we leave.
