I did my Lariat seats swap today and man are they so much better than a bench seat!
My driver side seat is power adjust so I had to get power to run to it but that was easy. The only issue is the forward and back rails are rusted up and can only move forward and back about 3/8 of an inch. Gonna have to pull it back out and fix that. Also getting ready to buff my bumper a little bit and throw the clear coat over the paint.
Tristian,
I just found this thread while searching for an update on @SkySkiJason and his truck problem. You are moving right along!
I know you will love those seats, especially after having the bench seat. Hopefully they raise you up some. Us short people look up at the roof that seems so far away and wonder why they wasted all that space up there.
Follow Jason's advise about the pitman arm. Use a BIG hammer and hit it like you do when you miss and hit your hand.
When I replaced the I-beams on my 2WD truck, I pulled them off a donor truck with the springs still attached. I had to take it all apart, but you won't have to.

I do love these seats! I'm going to throw some seat covers on them and run them like they are for a while! Unfortunately the forward and back rails are screwed up and we could not get them to work, I think the motor is going out, but we used a pipe wrench and turned the rod until it was at a good spot and left it like that! From there I just use the up and down and front and back tilt to get where I can reach the clutch! If I'm not high enough the whole seat can come up some more anyway!

I usually hit my hand pretty hard too! I still have a knot on my hand from when I full force smacked my hand with a mini Sledge on a steel table from like 5 or 6 months ago. It might have been even longer than that!

I've done some digging and everything seems pretty easy! Only thing I'm missing right now is a pitman arm and brake hoses and I can put the front diff in. I thought my hoses looked long enough but I remembered I had your hoses from that truck so I measured it versus mine and my hoses are 5 inches shorter.

Thanks for checking in! Hope you're doing well!
I'm happy to have the machine shop work done and for a decent price. Now I have to figure out what I need and order it. Just finished slopping oil all over the block and heads since it will be weeks before I can get it put together.
The best part of the electric seats are using them to help you bleed the brakes by yourself. Stick a block of wood or pipe between the seat and brake pedal after you pump them, and use it to keep hard pressure on the pedal while you bleed a few seconds and then repeat.

I'm glad you didn't get robbed at the machine shop!
There's always plenty of stuff to order it seems like!
Although I'm sure that works, There is a better way to bleed brakes by yourself. A much better way! Some of you may have heard of this.
Put a little clear hose on your bleeder valve nipple going down into a clear container of brake fluid and make sure the hose is completely submerged in the fluid. Open the bleeder valve, then go and start pumping your brakes slowly. All of the air that comes out of the hose will go to the top of the clear brake fluid container and when it starts to suck something back in it will suck up brake fluid, not air. As long as the end of the hose stays at the bottom of the brake fluid you can bleed brakes just by sitting there pumping it by yourself. Once you don't see any more air coming out of the hose, close the bleeder valve. Repeat for other side!

I've done it that way, but once you open a can of brake fluid, you have to use it or toss it. It is hydroscopic, meaning that it absorbs water. Once there's water in it, and your calipers get hot, the moisture flashes over to steam and steam is compressible. You hit the brake pedal and your foot goes to the floor. This is why you need to replace your brake fluid every so often. So that extra container of brake fluid is trash. My way takes 2 - 3 cycles and costs me nothing.
Pressure bleeding is the quickest and easiest way to bleed your brakes. You can build your own or buy the one from Motive.

I guess you could just open the bottle of brake fluid and put the hose in it instead of putting it in another container.
I had never heard of anybody having problems with this way before. I guess you learned something new everyday! Thanks!
Regardless I couldn't use the seat for that anyway because the forward and back doesn't work
I guess I could still jam a stick in there using the seat to hold it anyway, I would just need a longer stick

Anyone who has suffered with an inept "helper" while bleeding brakes certainly would love to have one of those kits! With my ex, I learned never to ask her help before getting an extra container and tubing... some people just can't figure out bleeding brakes or towing with a rope!

That is a nice kit and would definitely make things easier and quicker! I might have to add that to my tools to buy list!
