Thank you both for taking the time to show the fitment issues. This is rather disappointing as I doubt CSD would be able to get me their hot pipe before my trip at the end of the month.
I'll try and talk to Irate about this and see if there's anything that could be done, though I doubt it. This has me wondering if the stock hot pipe could get close enough to be extended to the turbo with some creative use of three inch pipes and boots?
Looks good! And I bet it fits way better than mine.
The big AIH hole makes a good spot for a boost gauge connection. They sell plugs or you can use a Cummins drain plug and add a tapped hole. SSJ knows the right one. I can never remember. Old school version I think.
Here is oem hot pipe. It is a good distance and odd angle to turbo, a tad harder to see with my boot on turbo outlet.
let me know if you want measurment or anythig, i can do that before I finish assembly
Just FYI for you and for others following along later. There is a reason that MAP hose port is angled up and the angle of the hose should be progressively downward from the MAP (mounted high for a reason) sensor down to the spider port.

My T4 uses the stock spider as well the stock IC hot pipe. I used 3" mandrel tubing, one 90° section and a 45° piece for the mid pipe. Welded beads on the ends to keep them from slipping.
This is just the kind of solution I've been looking for! I'm sure a local shop could weld the pipe up for me at a reasonable price.
Looks like I'll need 3" OD, 304 stainless, 16g pipe. Do you happen to know how long the legs are on the sections of pipe that connect to the turbo and the stock hot pipe? For the weld it seem like they were cut right as the curve transitions to straight. Also it looks like you shortened the stock hot pipe a little?

It is a shame csd cant get you one, those sections cost as much as the whole csd hot pipe
Yeah the cost aspect isn't ideal.
The reason I figure on stainless vs aluminum coated is because, in the case of the latter, the weld itself wouldn't have an aluminum coating. I'd have to paint the inside and outside of the pipe to prevent rust, which I wouldn't be keen on doing.
I run the ccv plumbed into the intake so rust isnt an issue in the pipe. Took a handful of pictures to give you an idea of the angles. When I originally cut the two pieces I mocked them up using tape to make sure the angle was right before welding. The pipe ends right past the t-bolt clamps to get an idea how long the legs are.
Those 2 pipes you posted will be a close fit only having 2" legs. Something with a 3" leg will give you more room to work with. I think the leg of the 90° coming off the turbo is around 3"+/-, each truck is different Im.sure.
