In my home area (Philly suburbs) Mudflap has decent diesel discounts but has been less of a discount than Open Roads, so OR has been the winner for me locally. I haven’t ventured more than 200 miles from home with the new truck yet that is my first diesel so don’t have any experience comparing the two apps in other regions yet.
I have heard GasBuddy and mud flap have apps, but have not jumped on board as of yet.
Gas Buddy is great for finding the best price in any given area. Right now near me there's a $0.31 spread between low and high prices, $2.87 to $3.18. They also have an extra feature you can sign up for which apparently gets you extra savings, but I've never used it. You might want to try it out because it's free and you don't have to provide any personal info to use the basic features. The app is well designed and easy to use but the only down side is that the pricing info is provided by users. On occasion you'll get to a station and the price is wrong, so I always look to see when it was last updated. Here's a screenshot.

My wife and I use the Gas Buddy debit card. It rarely saves more than 2-3 cents per gallon, but it adds up over time. What it does help with is keeping track of how much gas we use and its cost. A quick check can save several $$ every fill so more worth it for that than the savings per gallon the card gets. There is a premium service with monthly fee that supposedly saves up to 25cents per gallon, but not sure if there would be enough savings to benefit the fee. Wish there were option like TSD has for Diesel that can be used for gas, but EVERYONE uses gas, so I guess that wouldn't help as much.

I seem to recall about a year ago TSD/OR was going to announce a similar savings option or card for gasoline, but I have not seen any updates since the initial announcement.
Unless we are traveling, we only fill up at two different locations local to us. They are usually the cheapest in our small town and within 5 cents of each other.
I guess we will have to continue paying whatever price the powers that be want to charge. Perhaps TSD/OR will come out with a gasoline discount card, probably will be right about the time we get a 50+ MPG hybrid.
It has been a while since I used my Open Roads discount card since we have only been doing local camping this year since our long distance trip in/around FL.
I stopped a Love's and paid $2.92 per gallon down from the marked $3.25 per gallon. We are going to take our savings from filling up 54 gallons of fuel out of the 75 gallon capacity and have Mexican food out tonight.
