Floor is looking good there Bob. Sucks about the weather. I won't tell you that it's supposed to hit seventy this weekend here....

Thanks for not bringing that up Josh!
We're finally warming up here. Upper 40's today and in the 50's tomorrow with a good chance of Sever Storms. We've already had our first Tornado siren test of the year, d@mn I hate that sound.
I hope y'all are doing well.

So over in the leader forums, there has been some talk about cleaning up the chapter role books and such. Like removing anyone from the chapter that hasn't posted or visited the site in over a year, or five years, to get an accurate look at how active the chapter currently is. What are ya'll's thoughts on this? Do we care, or if some one doesn't visit the site in a year or more, should we cut them from our role book?

ive always thought the CL need to be someone thats atleast active on the forums... but when i first started on here they had a bit more power... could close threads in their sections if need be... but from what ive been hearing lately theyre needing to go to the moderators to get this done for them... if they still had the power to police their own sections of the forums theyre supposed to be a leader of then there are some cases i could see them needing 2 leaders.. that way if one had something family wise to deal with (death in the family, accident requiring hospitals, or new family member) or just out on vacation then the other could police as the back up while the 1 is gone...

but without the power it really doesnt matter.. of what ive been hearing their responsibilities are now is approving membership requests, and handling the chapters merch sales/policing the decals and crap now... like an old forum i was on they didnt care if you made your own decals to support the forums.. but here you gotta get it "approved" by someone to print your own to support the forum...

we tried the decal thing when I was the CL, the problem is you can’t use anything that is or resembles a “ford” licensed image, logo or wording. This is stupid being as we’re an all ford blue bleeding group but that’s how George explained it to me. We had some really cool ideas come across the table for a NC chapter logo but they all got rejected. As far as the power, it’s been like it is now since Cliff “Super Snake or Old tired rebal” and Art were the CL’s before me. I agree with having a roll call of sorts and start culling guys that haven’t been around in some time. I personally know of 3 or 4 members that are only here in spirit now if you know what I mean... I however do not think that these inactive chapter members should all be removed from the FTE membership, because there’s a great number of guys that use FTE like praying to God, they only show up when something is wrong and they seek a cure or an answer. As you most know FTE is one of, if not the best brand specific forums on the web for getting good sound advice, the occasional right diagnosis, good cheap fixes and of coarse a multitude of suggestions and personal opinions.

I will also say that being a FTE chapter leader is a lot more of a job than most think. In order to stay active and keep the chapter members coming back for more, policing the post, approving new members and trying organize get togethers with a bunch different people from all over a state the size of NC the job can be a task. It actually got to the point that I had to resign and give it up because between FTE and work I stayed on the computer all the time.. after saying all this I do agree we should go back to at least having a vice or second chair. We did when Art, Cliff and I were the leader. The “vice” didn’t have the power to approve membership but could do everything else.

I was more referring to ones that just said the website name and/or an outlined picture of the state your a chapter of like you see on some members signatures of the forum... one of the other forums i was on we had several members make their own like that or ones that usually just had just the websites address as the the logo to promote the site... we didnt really care that members did that as it brought more "foot traffic" to the site and never had a problem with mother ford over them.. but then you got other forums that throw a fit about it because your members arent BUYING the higher priced decals from the site merch distributing members claiming that it was funding the site.. i can tell you from the ones where i was in the higher controlling ranks of.. the funds that came in from sales of things like that came no where near enough to pay for the site.. it was usually the membership buying members that paid for the sites operation costs... and we didnt "bully" (as i like to refer to it as) our members with ads, throttling connections, and things like that to get them to pay for a membership.. the site was the same for the paying members as it was for the non-paying membership... and FTE is WAAAAY!!! bigger than those site i was part of ever was.. the memberships yeah we gave them some merch for paying but we also had a check box for opting out if they didnt want the stuff... more times than not they tended to check that box on the next year around...

Snuck over the border into Stokes County today.

There's one of the VA stickers above. Made by a guy in NY (stopped making stickers, a couple of years ago.
