Dad went in Halfsies with me in a 88 Ford ranger when I was 14, and I paid him back working for him (he had a construction business) from there is was all on me... since then I've gone there a number of trucks.
How yall fellas doing? We took a trip to SC Saturday to see a man about some horses. Other than a tire blowing out on 74 just before whiteville it was a successful trip...
Was a treadwright guard dawg. They were getting close to the wear bars and I had plans of replacing before our trip to TN anyways... just had to do it a little earlier than planned. Ordered a set of 33x12.5r17s for it this morning.
I liked VA's appraisal values of my vehicles better than i do of NC's appraisals.... NC's mean.... Last yearly appraisal i got in VA said $7000 for my mustang... first one here in NC $3000..... Va appraisal for the truck was $9000... NC says its only worth $5200.... jerks....
Doesn't lower appraisal mean lower property tax, Shawn??
does... but apparently doesnt mean much to the registration fee in NC... VA both of them were 76 each for the year.... here together im looking at 300...
Yep, the lower appraisal value equates to a lower tax value. As for registration, it's all based off of weight. What do you have the dually registered at? that can change a lot of what it costs. Cars (anything rated at under 4k) is at like 77 cents per lb. Then as you go up, the cost per lb goes up. If you registered the dually at anything over 18K you are paying 2$ a lb. My guess is that you have the dually weighted at somewhere between 14 - 17 K which is at a 1.77 per lb cost.

they have it registered at 7000lbs... the office here said they do it off the curb weight rating given by the mfg and not the tow rating... for that reason i was forced into a "Weighted" plate.. where VA i just a had a passenger plate on the truck... VA it was only $77 a year to renew the plates ($75 if i did it online which i normally did lol)... here the trucks $152 to renew the plate... and $92 for the mustang... also need to take them both to get them inspected...
Glad to see everybody is staying busy. I've finished the brakes on the 2013, and need to get it inspected and tagged, so Ka'Bluey was put on the back burner, again. But I've gotten more done in the house, and the boss lady is happy about that. All of the flooring is done, baseboards in the living room painted and back where they belong. I got a deal on a couple of weathered wooden ladders and have begun making shelves out of them to hold satellite receiver, and other tv crud. I do still need to hide the cables for those still. Shari brought home a metal foot board that she liked, then she snagged a nice looking, old Cedar Post from an antique shop here in town. So with a little creativity, I cut the post in half length wise, flipped the foot board upside down and have it fastened together. That piece will end up being wall art for her sitting room. The rocking chair in the picture, I refinished a few years ago while we were in NC. It finally has a nice spot to stay in. Now I have a serious mess in the garage to clean up.
