Now, if they'd just fix it.
I did mention that I drove 50 miles to pick up my truck that I was able to drive 7 miles, and that it will be a trip back home, and then another trip back to the truck (100 miles round trip). So now they're taking care of the fuel that I use in the rental car too.
Good luck with it this time round Bob. You know how these newer vehicles are. You think you got a fuel line connected, and it pops off a few miles up the road. Or you didn't recheck all the codes and clear them after your repair, and there is that one dang connector that you forgot... or you just didn't scare away Murphy. It happens to all of us, even the ones they call 'technician's' now...

or you get that Mechanic that didnt learn old school mechanics diagnostics... all the new ones are just being taught to scan the computer and let it tell you where the problem is.. which isnt always where its at... theyre parts slingers not mechanics....

What are points and condensers ?? What's timing ?

" I don't know if that part is the problem but, I' ll replace it anyway" Actual quote from a repair shop in NY that charged a guy $550 to not fix a 4.6 egr problem.

I've got a couple of those too, in NY and VA, timing lights, feeler gauges. Even an old Sun distributor machine. Plus a lot of flathead tools. When I worked at a Ford dealership, I might have to borrow a tool for a job. Then buy one so I'd have it in case I might need it again. Which in most cases didn't happen. Didn't feel like hauling the toolboxes home every weekend, in case I wanted to work on something, so I have a lot of duplicate tools.

No, and that bother's me about as much as the truck being in the shop. They found somebody else to take her, but at least they didn't take her to the pound.

Afternoon fellas.

Josh the little one is growing like a weed, Friday and Saturday nights were rough, doc says its because she has 3 teeth popping theough. However shes been kind of congested (even though the doc says she wasn't....) luckily last night she did good and we were able to catch up a little sleep.

Enjoy your daughter, Larry. They grow up so fast.

You can have a couple of years before you have to start thinking about her first car/truck to drive.

Larry,
Glad to hear she's doing well, though I am a bit surprised you are getting any sleep at night. I've heard the little ones don't like to sleep a whole night through.

Sorry to hear that Bob, I know you really wanted to bring home another GS. Hopefully you'll find the right one and get her home next time.

I did get the truck back Monday afternoon and have put a couple hundred miles on it with no issues.
Monday evening I got a great deal on a bottle, Pepsi machine for the garage. It works great, and the guy helped load it, for $50!
I know you all are getting this cold weather too. The worst we've been told about is here now. The temperature is -6, with a high of 7, and -8 or so tonight. Schools are closed due to the temperature and the wind chill of -20 to -30.
My plans are to be inside today, and I'll have the fireplace going earlier than normal.

Here's the old Pepsi machine.
I have more checking to do, but I'm guessing it's from 1972, 1975.
