Yeah, there’s been a lot of rain this year. Wonder what our yearly accumulation is already...

2018 broke the record in Whilmington with 102.40" (hurricane Florence played a big part of that...

for raleigh according to NOAA right now theyre saying since Jan 1 they've gotten 7.35" of rain... yearly average by this time is 6.12"... last year by this time it was only 5.46"..

https://forecast.weather.gov/product.php?site=RAH&product=CLI&issuedby=RDU

someways i think those numbers are running shallow... but different areas get different amounts.. feels like we got more than that here in Norlina this year...

Well thankfully here, we've had a couple of sunny dry days these last couple of days. I was able to finally get the new jack on the camper, and get the two items on the exterior replaced that I wanted to. One was the shore power cover, the other was the exterior 110 outlet cover. Also was able to swap out the pigtails and the connector for the propane and test the new one that I installed. With new bunk mattresses, and some stuff packed away in it already, I think it's almost ready for it's maiden voyage. Just have to decide when and where we are taking it. Have a couple of options that we have already talked about around here. Just haven't decided yet for certain.

Let's not forget to check the wheel bearings before you go on your big trip this summer. Just let me know, glad to help.

Will do Marty. As soon as I can find a quiet weekend, I'm hooking up the trailer and getting out. Everything left to do is cosmetic, and I want to get some use out of that ride. Lake Jordan, Uwharrie, Carolina Beach, anywhere.I'm also going to give Butch a call, see about that Plymouth this weekend, if he wants me to go pick it up. The forecast isn't calling for rain for most of the day, so should be a good day to try on Saturday. I think Catherine is teaching Sunday school every week this month, so may not be able to get her out with us. But I can probably bring the kids out camping. I really want to get some fishing time in this spring.

How's Wesley's class coming along?

I agree. It starts on the first crank. Shifts good, three on the tree. And loaded and unloaded itself from the trailer with ease. It's been waiting for a nice day to bring it home from the body shop, and Saturday happened to be it. Glad it's home finally, after I don't know how many years of being at the body shop. I'm pretty sure a few guys in town got whiplash, you could just see the heads turning as I drove down the road. Butch has a couple of Buicks, one should be heading to paint here soon. Not sure how I'm going to get it there for him, think it's longer than my trailer. But we will figure it out when it's time. May be time to upgrade my trailer soon to something more substantial and longer.

Also made it to the Dixie Classic at the Fairgrounds. Picked up a Marlin 22, then hit the local store, and found out they have it regular price, which is cheaper than the Dixie. Really think the Gun Show isn't a great deal anymore. Have to really know what you are looking for and what you can get it for locally. Still, they have a 22 revolver on hold for me at the local store, until I can get back over and pick it up. Just want something to teach the kids with, and a 7 shot 22 sounds like the right thing for that. The Dixie classic also had a heck of a time with the paperwork with out the concealed carry permit. Still it's done, and one thing checked off my list this weekend. Been looking for a 22 rifle for the kids to shoot for a few months now.

It's great that you will be teaching your kids to shoot, Josh. My dad taught me with a single shot bolt action .22 from Sears.

I've been looking off and on (mostly off) for a Marlin 39A . Single shot lever action.

Good morning everybody!
Nice looking old Plymouth, I like seeing that older iron still on the road.
We started another project at the house this weekend. We didn't like the flooring on the two front rooms when we looked at the house. It looked like cheap laminate, done poorly. We were close, it was real cheap vinyl planks that looked like cheap laminate, and it was done poorly.
We put almost $1000 into materials but we'll have new flooring in the entryway, family room, and dining rooms. Then we'll start doing the living room and kitchen in the same stuff. Good thing Tim is still here, I can't get up and down from the floor like I used to.

We're ready for Spring, and Tornadoes, at least it will be warm.

The 22 I grabbed this past weekend was a Marlin - 60 maybe? Has a 16 round tube under the barrel.

Floor is looking good there Bob. Sucks about the weather. I won't tell you that it's supposed to hit seventy this weekend here...
