Shawn, I’ve always greased them during install, and then just one or two squirts each oil change. You can squirt until it comes out the seal, but why? This breaks the seal with the part, allows an opening for grease to come out, and dirt to get in, and is generally not recommended. I believe most of them say to only add a specific amount during the service, and not try to push the old grease out. After all, if the seal is intact, their should not be dirt getting in.
That's a downside to using grease.Usually grease the joints every oil change and pump until grease just starts to come out the seals.

This is the spring thread... so where's the spring weather? I'm ready for some nice camping weather.. well, not quite ready.. will be in a couple of weeks though.
Spring......Really!
This happened just two day's ago! We have more limbs on the ground now, and another winter storm heading here this weekend. Off for some firewood! Y'all behave.
my outside unit froze over the other night... had 2 inch block of ice sitting on top of the fan grate.. i think im gonna have to build something to surround the units... something like those park picknick shacks kinda things...

That's a little unusual. a 2in thick ice in North Carolina? doesn't happen often, at least in most of NC.

we were getting rain with freezing temps... im guessing the unit went into a defrost cycle at the same time and when it did the fan blew the cold air against the incoming rain and iced over the fans protection grate ntm the moisture it was throwing off from the defrosting coils just made it a double whammy.. for the last week its been in the 20's and low 30's every night here... (ntm im sitting between 2 lakes lol) it just build ice until the grate was blocked with the ice....
