Good morning Oregon, welcome to Thursday. Another snowy day. 6+ inches of snow, so, we're up to 18-20 on the ground. I'm beginning to wonder if this crap is ever going to melt.
We've gone through 48 1/2 bags of pellets since January 1st. That's 8 more bags than we went through from Sept. 1st to Dec. 31st. Since Jan 1, Figures out to about 5 bags a week. We've gone through a total of 88 bags since the first fire towards the end of September after we got back from the last trip to Diamond Lake.
We've gone through 130 bags so far for about the same time frame. I'll have to buy another ton to get through April/Early May. We are burning about a bag and half a day and sometimes 2 bags a day. Way cheaper the PGE by a couple miles...
Good afternoon Oregon and everyone everywhere else. Trial Conference Hearing on #2 continued until April 4th. Scum Bag #1 and #2 have been offered plea deals with nearly $8900 of reimbursements attached to each one. #3 is still in the wind. Guess we'll see how this goes. I know #1 was looking at accepting the plea so we'll see. Maybe there is a little light at the end of the tunnel.

Absolutely! About 10 years ago, out pellet stove had a terminal failure. We had 2 weeks on the electric heat in one billing period. Our electric bill went from around $100 to $260. We had a $350 electric bill the following month before the new pellet stove got here and was installed. So far we've spent less than that much for the entire winter supply since Sept. Could have saved $50.00 over that if I would get the pellets at Lowes and use my military discount and save around $60 to $70. The Sierra Supreme Pellets they have, while I could get them cheaper, seem to be not quite as efficient and burn dirtier, so I stick pretty much with the Golden Fire from the local Farm and Feed Store here in town. The local farm store has them year round as well. Lowe's will be clearing them out any day now - with 2 to 3 months of heating season left.
Jim are searching the garage?
Is it too bad you already bought a new camper, there is the RV show at the Expo center this weekend.
Not the garage. Cabela's, perhaps West Marine (although I'm not a West Marine Fan) and maybe in Salem at the Sportsman's Warehouse. Then compare prices to a couple of online company's like Overton's. The Down imager, triple frequency unit at the Starboard stern fishing station has been obsolete for several years and updates are no longer being produced. It will be upgraded to a multi freq 50 to 800 MHz down imager and side scan CHIRP system with the new MEGA imaging HD display. Lets you see the scales on the fish.
Also a problem necessitating replacing both the touch screen Multi frequency Conventional Sonar/CHIRP/ Down Imager / Side Scan Imager/Nav Combo at the helm station. That one should only require a control head/display replacement so I will not have to do cable runs for it. I would like to increase the head from a 7" to a 9" if it isn't too much more. Already checked with Simrad and the GO9XSE uses the same infrastructure and transducer that the current GO7XSE uses. GO9XSE is also Radar ready (for two different types of radar) should I ever want to do that upgrade.
It's the time of year when there will be an RV show just about every other week. There was one in Eugene last weekend, RV Show coming up at the Casino before too long, another one coming up in Albany... We were at annual Salem RV show when we bought the one we are getting, which was just a week after looking at the campers at the Sportsman's Show.... I don't think we could do much better than the deal we are getting. We'd been looking since before the camper fire a year ago last month. We've been to a half dozen RV shows in the last year. To be honest we had been looking for a used one, 2 to no more than 5 years old. Finally decided to take the plunge and get the very first brand new camper we have ever had. We were also able to customize it to the way we wanted. They were calling it a 2020 because it would be constructed after the March 1 cut off date. I think most everyone else would call it a 2019.5. I have seen a lot of people in the Lance Owners club calling mid year models that over the last several years.(Been hanging around the Lance Owners Club for a while. The camper that burned was a Lance.)
Morning and happy Friday! 28 as I left the compound with a blanket of Ice on the truck. Broke into the reserve firewood yesterday. If the snow melts some more I plan on getting over to it with the tractor and bringing a few bucket loads down. Reserve wood is on a hill in an old covered pig pen and I don't feel like sliding around in the tractor on the hill.
