Just in case we get to go, which outfit are you working for? Not sure we are going to go. If the weather stays good, I want to take the boat to either Devils Lake or Hagg in the next few days and we have some free tickets to the RV show in Salem.
Good evening Oregon and everyone everywhere else. Wasn't much of anything good to our day today.
A dodge pickup somehow 'accidently' caught on fire last night around midnight.
It took the RV shop 14 hours to call us and let us know there was a fire and a problem!
We don't own the pickup so normally that wouldn't bother me too much. But, that pickup had been parked next to our Lance Camper and we didn't get notified for over 14 hours and yep, that bugs the HE#$ out of my wife and I.
I talked to the Fire Department and the Firefighter who is filing the report this evening. He said they could see the flames, 50 feet or higher in the air over the top of the other RV's, trees and the 747 at the Museum next door from over a mile away. Someone is going to have to explain to me how a Diesel pickup (even if it is a dodge) can be sitting and not operated or run for a full day can suddenly just burst into flames that got this hot!
We were told there was a potential buyer for it. They had until Friday to come up with financing, which apparently they were having some problems with.
The plan was that if it didn't sell, we were going to bring it home and let the oldest boy live in it for a month or so. He lost his place after the landlord sold it. Then his estranged wife tried to kill him 3 weeks ago and.........
After he got set up in an apartment, I was going to take it to a different RV Sales place down in Junction City that is advertising for used campers to either buy outright or sell on consignment. In fact, I had been talking to those folks and they gave me free tickets for the Warden and I to go to an RV show in Salem this weekend, and I'm sure give them a chance to try and sell us something instead of just handling the camper on consignment.
First of all sorry for your bad luck Jim, I feel for ya.
I do know of a brand new (two weeks old) Diesel truck that caught fire and burned a huge house down last year just outside of Philomath. Don't remember the make but they parked it in the garage and sometime over the night it caught fire. The smoke damage was bad but the the water damage was worse total loss on the house.
Taking off in a bit to go help my Mom in Washington may take the 205 to avoid the jam from the sportsmens show. Still will be 4 or 5 hours of driving today.
Thanks Pat, need to help her with some paperwork and make sure she is still able to make it on her own. Keep trying to get her to move down and live with us but she dosn't want to move.
