That price is very good if the truck is sound or needs some work even. If the guy has taken it to the stealership for maintenance they probably overmaintained it. Your fuel tank is plastic and unpainted so paint delamination is not an issue.
If you mull on it too long, it'll be gone. 7.3Ls like that don't last a day on the west coast, unless the price is stupid high. One of our members got $17K for his Superduty with a 7.3L. Many people go as high as $20K for low-mileage 7.3Ls.
Good job! I was about to say "Let me know where it's at". I could probably pick up $10K profit by buying the truck and getting it to Washington for resale.

I hear that, do you think we could do anything with stuff like this?

Will you stop posting this stuff? Whenever I'm waiting for the coffee pot to make it's happy noise, I now find myself browsing these sites looking for a 99 up 7.3 to rebuild and update my e99. This and those engine **** threads aren't helping either.

My 2 worthless cents...I highly doubt injectors are an issue, but mechanics who know nothing or very little about 7.3s go there first. Case in point, my last truck before my current one was running on 6 cylinders. His "diesel specialist" told him it needed three injectors to the tune of $3200 out the door. I bought the truck, brought it home and pulled the valve covers. Low and behold, the number 1 and 2 injectors were completely disconnected from the harness. I connected them back and presto!! It ran on all 8 cylinders. After that and $90 worth of harnesses and new valve cover gaskets, and the truck purred like a kitten. Now, it had other maintenance issues. such as parts store sensors, bad o-rings, and just bad maintenance all around, but it definitely did NOT need injectors.
Moral of the story....maintain, maintain, maintain....and use ONLY Motorcraft parts. Do not use Napa, Oreillys, Autozoo, etc....your truck will thank you.
Just a couple bad sensors was the answer. Picking up this week. Question unrelated to injectors, it's an '00 and doesn't have super duty badges. Are the badges just not there or is there a different type of 3/4 ton aside from the super duty? It's a lariat trim package but I didn't think that made a difference.
Some guys take them off to make them look cleaner. My neighbor ordered his new 6.7 without ANY badges at all....If I was paying that kind of cheese for a new truck, I'd want EVERYONE to know I was taking on a whole 'nother mortgage.....I don't get it......
