I was looking at that. Looks like a fun time to remove everything. I appreciate the help that is offered up on this site. Best informational resource I've found yet.
Most people get that pesky rear passenger bolt from the top, but if you crawl underneath and look up, here is a way to reach up with your arm and get it. IMO, it is MUCH easier that way.
I use a deep socket and a U-joint with about 18" of extensions on a cordless drill to zap that back one out. The two by the heater core are easy either with a 13mm flex socket or through the wheel well. If you have an Excursion, it's flex socket only - no accessibility through the wheel well.
I remember the first couple of time pulling the passenger VC, I practically stripped the engine bay to get that bugger out. Now I just grab the oil filler neck and play with the puzzle for a few seconds.
This isn't on topic but everyone says to use Rotella T oil in this truck. I plan to use a Motorcraft filter along with the John Deere oil we use in our machinery. It's cheaper because I buy it in drums and it would be much more convenient. Deere's specs are pretty high so does anyone think there is an issue with this?

If it's got CJ-4 rating go for it, if it's not I wouldn't and that Rotella T6 is no longer CJ-4.
It is indeed CJ-4. What's the trick to removing the pesky plastic cap off the fuel filter. Mine is smooth with a 1" bolt head type fixture. I tried it with the engine both warm and when it was cool. No luck or I would have stripped that fitting right off.
Alright. Is there a way to reset the average mileage on the overhead display in this truck? It seems to be stuck at 15.5 and that's not what the odometer is telling me.
