Not yet Morris but they may be coming soon. Right now they're having a big melt of the mountain snow pack so the rivers are high with runoff. The end of June could be a lot different of a story though . Doubt if we could handle 8" of rain Here, I'd be okay because of the elevation but the downtown area and lower levels would be screwed as they haven't done much in the way of flood mitigation in the 5 years since the last flood .
The city is still deciding what it should do about it in the future and keep coming up with ideas that aren't feasible for anyone who lives along the river northwest of the city. Calgary city council seems to think it has a land dictatorship along the river up to Canmore.
2013 was the last one and there was one in 2005. You've got to remember that this is Calgary and things like common sense, planning for the future, sober thought and working with your neighbor to improve local environment only exists in small quantities and usually gets destroyed by the first drunk that comes along.
Good Morning MB and SK. Morris it is like here with the roads. I have only seen this once so far. The city had to redo a road and had to pull out the road bed and repair it. So they told the utility companies they were going to do it so they could do any repairs or upgrades before they started putting the new road in. Usually we get like what happened near my house a few years ago. State paved a road for a good 2 miles. After they paved the road they decided to replace the traffic lights which required them to cut through the brand new asphalt they just put down to run the power and signal lines for the new traffic lights about a month later.
Good morning folks, I` m off on a small Bobcat job this morning hopping that showers stay away. A dark sky isn`t a good sign.
Sounds like organised confusion Shaun, must be part of an engineer`s training.
Hello Grant, you have a good day too.
All of a sudden the dark clouds rolled in and it`s almost lights out, hopefully this passes by quickly without another dump of rain.
Nothing too exciting at work today Shaun?
