I put out some peanuts for the squirrels and that was my outside adventure for the day.

I put a second suet holder on the other day, for some reason the birds don`t touch the bird seed but really go for the suet.

We have so many Magpies and Crows out here it isn't funny, wish we could still shoot them but thats illegal inside town limits. I've been told by several sources that squirrels help keep mice away.

Have relatives coming over tomorrow that I haven't seen in about 15 years.

Good evening folks

Had an interesting day, my aunt Edna, cousins Mike and Shannon dropped in, first time that I've seen them in almost 20 years so there was a bit of catching up to do.

Still cold here as it was -16 for a high, next 2 days it gets colder.

Hello Grant, John and Perry.
Many magpies and few crows out here too.
Still cold here, hopefully next week brings milder weather. -37 plus wind chill tomorrow evening.

We have thousands of crows here all summer and fewer in the winter, lots of ravens . We see the odd magpie at the dump but not around town but along the trans Canada highway there are all kinds of the magpies likely because of the livestock and open fields..
-28° this morning, Sunday is supposed to get down to -39°

Hello Grant, John.
It`s -29°C, feels like -41 and -37°C by morning.
The local crows head elsewhere and the ravens come here in the winter.

Ravens stay here all year but the last couple years I've noticed that there are a family of crows that have been staying here in town, must be getting enough to eat I guess...
