The other officer that was in a different barrel of rum made it to England fir burial. But the sailors did not get into that one. It was a good preservative for stuff like that back then. And one does not have to worry about it with modern rum. As for the military standards there wasnt many. The officers bought their commissions.

Good afternoon drunken sailors.
Sun came up this morning so thats a good sign, the warm up keeps getting pushed back but the overnight temps are starting to rise, so hope fully we'll get a week or so of above seasonal soon.
Started picking out tooth chips last night and hopefully they'll be gone soon. My teeth would qualify me for the navy unfortunately.

I`m sure that it was good preservative and likely one of the few available at that time Shaun.
No drunken sailors in this land locked area Perry tho it might be a good way to stay warm. Lot of sun here too but it`s still to weak to make it warm.
The temps will start to rise a bit then looks like it`ll be colder again.
I had a few tooth chips, my last one took about 4 months to surface, a good thing this wasn`t painful.
A small hammock doesn`t sound all that comfortable Shaun.
