It needed a good hot bath. And the power washer certainly help in a huge way. No one thought it would clean up that well. It looks better in the pic than in person but it looks much better than the day before.

1968 or 1969 bed. I found this bed and bought it not realizing the 68/69 are different from the 70-72 bed. It will work fine and has the tool box (see other pic). I also found this other bed which has the chrome on it and has the light on the side see pic. Guy is asking 500.00 . I would like to use the bed I bought if a body shop can fix this bed to have the side light like the 72 had.

So do I sell the bed I bought and buy the white one above or do I keep the one I have and body shop fix so it has the side light?

Thanks -

Are the rear sections of your original bedsides in decent shape. If so a Body Shop can graft your end pieces with lights to the bed you bought.

The original bed is gone. Guy who bought it from Papaw took the bed to a scrap yard because the floor was gone where the extra gas tank sat. They put the utility bed on it. But if I can buy those end sections that would work great. The bed I bought (dark red/brown one) is in excellent condition. Where can I find those end sections? What are they called?

Thanks - Shawn

I have only seen the pieces to convert a 70-72 bed to a 67/69 bed that would cover the cut out. Not the other way around. You should ask your shop of choice about the conversion and if they say oh yeah we can do that "for a reasonable amount" keep what you have. If they say "well we can make it work but it will cost ya" be a little hesitant and list your current bed for sale and snag the white one. You may find after you dig into that white bed you need parts from both beds to make good one for your project.

Those end bed cap corners, I've seen replacements on one of the resto parts site like LMC, MAC'S, NPD etc.

The bed I found is off 2x4 truck. Doing some reading and read something about the diff between the 2x4 and 4x4 Highboy beds mounting. I think it was this link Fuel Tank Discussion and Options - Page 1 - FORDification.com (the link is about fuel tank options but in the text has some info on the bed and frame)

So are the bolts the same? Any special instructions? I need tips on putting the bed on the truck becuase that is the plan this weekend. Thanks -

Check this out. Was reading some threads and found a link Marti Auto Works - Concourse Quality, Hobbyist Price

Marti Report for my truck. This could be really sweet if they have the records from when he ordered the truck!

So I ordered this info. Lets see what they come up with...

Any Idea what they are called? I found a diagram of the bed that shows the part but does not list the part. So I must be on the wrong page.

Thanks -

67 to 72 long beds are the same f100 to f250 4x2 and 4x4 no differences at all. If the bed you bought is in good shape, use it. There isn't any reason you have to get the bed with the marker lights. That maroon bed looks good and you own it, go with that. Just my two cents, by the way nice truck and story.
