Last year I rented a log splitter, 60 bucks for 1 day from RAM Rental in Smithfield (if I remember right). That's kind of far for you but I see Home Depot rents them for 70.
Today I need to get that Hickory out of the back of the truck, and set aside. Tomorrow (Saturday) I've volunteered for a rescue run from Fayetteville, to Roanoke for a young male German Shepherd that has an injured leg, or a leg missing.
It's a good thing we don't have any acreage, I'd have a lot of Shepherds to tend too.
Y'all have a good day!
Well I don't think my 1st Pork Belly came out too awful bad. Shari, Tim and I went at it pretty good. Well, Rocky managed to get a byte or two in. Spoiled brat.
Hope y'all had a nice Saturday.
James, Kim, and family. Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with you all...
Thanks he was doing a light run when I shot him, thought I shot it far enough forward I wouldn't mess up the front shoulders. However that 150gr 30-06 destroyed both the neck and front shoulders. The dogs enjoyed that part of the bloodshot meat.
Bob. No log splitter here, though I have a maul if you want to borrow it.
Larry, nice catch!!!
On another note, finally got Mary out of a Honda!
2016 Wrangler sport. 3.6 l Dana axles. She wants side steps put on and I want a hitch on it. We were only going to test drive, but she liked it. Then we ran into my old GM for my shop time, he now runs Jeep in Cary so worked us a deal that kept her payments the same... well at least until she went back to the f&i guy and he talked her into extended warranties. Oh well!

I'd really like to borrow that maul, and I have a sledge hammer YOU can use to split it all with.
I'm thinking I'm going to rent a splitter by the end of this next week.
Tell Mary congrats from us on the Jeep!
How much work is it? I love the redundancy and relaxation of splitting wood. Especially if you have a good sledge. I sure won't mind spending a couple of hours splitting wood, and throwing it in the back of MY truck
seriously though, if it's just one load I'll do it one evening. Beer and dinner is on you!!!
