So this morning my trucks fuel pump decided to quit, i got a quote from a new garage right up the road and decided it was worth the money to just let them change the pump and 2 used tires to replace the 2 slick ones on it.
Also picked up a used washer/dryer for a $100, then we upgraded to new phones my old Samsung S4 had about had it after 2 years.
Dang Larry, you got more done this morning than I did. I barely finished two cups of coffee and got to work!
Yesterday we had fire department training using the thermal camera. Fully suited up with SCBA, and a smoked out building.
Today I picked my truck up from the garage, $200 for 3 used tires 50%+ tread and fuel pump install, plus finishing my inspection. I didn't think that was to bad.
I pulled the trigger yesterday and bought my new stereo stuff for the 2013 F150. I went through Crutchfield: Car Stereo, Speakers, Home Theater, Pro Audio, 4k TV since nobody could even get close to matching their prices. And free shipping, and 2 day delivery wasn't too bad either, so it should be here this Thursday/tomorrow by UPS.
I picked out a Pioneer AVH-3800BHS that has more stuff on it than I wanted, but the price and reviews were great. Only $280 for a pretty well loaded stereo, but another $475 for dash kit, and a couple of different wire harnesses, and I did ad Sirius since I've had satelite radio for over the last 10 years and like it, I also gained HD radio, and a DVD player that makes no since to me, but it's there. And the Sirius tuner has a rebate making it free, and 3 months free subscription to boot.
So depending on what time UPS gets here tomorrow or Friday I'll be putting some new tunes in the truck
apparently my crappy luck with the truck still holds true...
This is what i found today
crack runs all the way through to the back.. and while on the front of the rim the crack only runs about halfway across the spoke.. on the inside it runs almost all the way across except for maybe an 1/2-3/4"... unfortunately couldnt get a good pic of it on the back...
so i pulled it off the truck for safety concerns and put the spare on.. now shes running on the wheel of shame (spare),.. but cleaned off the rust and painted it flat black so it doesnt look as bad..
Took a full 3" of fuel square to the chest today do to the stupidity of a government employee. The guy was very lucky, because my first thought was to open a can of whoop ***. Especially when all he did was say "whoops" and smile.
Instead my boss man turned in a report to his department.
i dont know when it happened... i just kept finding grey corrosion running down the spoke for that rim... had read somewhere ford had clear coated them to prevent them from doing so and just thought it had gotten scratched... when i cleaned the truck over the weekend i found that wasnt the case and saw the crack... while on the outside it only goes 1/2 way across the spoke... on the inside (where it faces the caliper) it almost all the way across...
A couple of errands to get done this morning, then start taking my stock stereo out. The new stuff is on the truck, and out for delivery
I finally get that stock tinny sound stereo out, and get my Sirius XM back too.
I'm sure there's some on there by now too. I'm real surprised local radio stations aren't playing it yet. Here you can sure find more than enough rap stuff if that's your thing....and it is not. So I really want my satelite back.
Sparky, glad that rim didn't go out on the highway.
me too... i have it mounted in the spares spot though JIC i get a flat since the spares currently taking its place... trying to get a new rim... Dealer says $767 from them.. friend of mine from NJ says he can get it for me for about half that and could possibly bring it down to me as well
