I got the afe intake box modified and back in. I might need to modify it a little more as it touches the IC pipe or I might just cut that whole section off and be done. For now there is a piece of rubber between them.
So yesterday I got to move our trailer about 70 miles to my in-laws where we store it for the winter; and I just have to say that I love the mods! I never had to leave 5th gear. There are a couple decent hills to climb that I usually would have to drop to 4th just to keep the boost up and temps down. This time I was able to keep it in 5th doing 70 mph, pushing 12-13 psi at 1100°. Very happy with the way it performed.

Yes sir, mods make a big difference!! I'm in Casper Wy, we are staying an extra day because there is a wind advisory tomorrow with 60+ winds. I worked the old OX hard enough today but she did good!
I remember driving out there and seeing all the "hey RV pullers, you might tip over here" signs... I couldn't imagine towing a freaking sail like what you do, Glenn
We don't want to stay another day but the wind advisory in Casper, Wy today says up to 60mph winds. I'll drop my wife off at the mall and do some odd jobs on the camper and pickup that I've put off. I guess being retired and not having to be anywhere we can kill a day.
What gets me is yesterday only 50 miles into our trip I was in a terrible wind hitting us in the front right corner. I literally worked the ox harder then I ever have. It was 70° out but the temp gauge was up to the L and my gauge said 220°. The EOT was 227° but when I turned west and headed straight into it things got better! I think the pickup nose blocks and throws some wind up over the 'sail' where the half way in between straight on and side wind the 'sail' gets a lot of the wind.
It is a good thing that you can just hold out another day and wait for the wind to die down. I'm sure you've seen it before, but we wouldn't want this happening to you...
Never saw that one! WOW, IMHO a 5er wouldn't have done that but who knows. Trailers are really popular these days but I'll stick with a 5er. In the 12 years I've been towing 5ers only once have I had any fish tailing. That was when I hit some wash board road on the freeway just out of Ca into Az. That woke me up! lol
