I called PHP and they charge $300 to reburn a TS6 chip and they only do all six tunes. Really! So if I need to change things up a couple years down the road, it's another $300. A new Hydra is only $375-400 and I can order one tune at a time. Sounds like they are trying to force people away from the TS6 chip. I'm going to give gearhead a call tomorrow, but looking at their site has me believing they're about the same. I was really hoping to only get 3-4 tunes since my stock tune and high idle work fine. Any other suggestions?
To Reburn a ts6 it can not have the old tunes mixed with new. All or nothing. Hydra is just a better deal down the line. The initial investment might be higher but having the ability to have multiple people's tunes on one chip Imo is the way to go.

300$ to Reuben a 175$chip is redoncolus

I totally agree on the Hydra and I'd love to have one, but I think my bank account is going to need a little stimulus before I make the jump. I need to start selling some of my old parts... anybody need a stock fuel pump and bowl?

Looking good! Sounds good too! That's NICE truck too. I've always liked the color combo of your truck. Don't see too many with that combo.

No you don't, but oddly enough there are two others in my town with the same colors. But neither of them are CCs.

That does sound really good. Motivation to finish my e-fuel... after about 10 other projects in front on it.

Get it done! What are your DIY plans? You going with all AN/JIC fittings and hoses or 5/16" steel lines and compression fittings?

Heinz 57 lol

I bought hard lines for the valley supply side from a certain legendary man that wanders these parts.

I'm not 100% sure what I'm going to do on the pump and filter lines yet.

I will unashamedly say that I completely built my lines based that same legends idea. For the return from the heads, I used the stock hoses and fittings with the correct adapter to the regulator. I also used a compression to hose barb on the frame rail supply line just after the pump.

I've seen some builds where they used a lot of hose with big loops going from here to there (especially around the pump and filters). I did my best to use as little hose as possible; I only bought 1' of 3/8" and 3' of 5/16" and still ended with a little extra of each. The longest piece of hose I used was from the stock hose coming off of the tank selector valve to the pre-filter.

I contacted Gearhead today and they will reburn the TS chip for $180 shipped with custom tunes for the Stage 1s and lifetime reburns. As much as I'd like a Hydra, this is the way I'm going to have to go for now; I just don't want to spend the extra $320 for the Hydra and tunes. If it wasn't for the lifetime reburns, I'd probably get the Hydra because I wouldn't be saving anything if I needed a reburn in the next year or so.

Last night I got my IC pipes tacked up and I'm currently working out the details with a coworker to get them welded up. Hopefully by next weekend I'll get the chip and IC pipes back in and really be able to see what she can do!

Not sure where I used TFT, but that usually stands for Transmission Fluid Temperature. Here's the link you are looking for... https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...finitions.html

Don't drill and tap; there's a plug in the oil cooler right next to the filter. The oil pressure switch is a way to provide power to the fuel pump only when the engine is running. This is the one I used... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0027I8CU8..._PVA3xb1B12092

Unless you or someone else has added one, there's not another switch like that on the engine.
