I have mixed feelings on this, but what do you think of pulling the hubs off and painting them a flat black to match the wheels? Just leave the straight section of the lock **** the original color so they kind of match the rear center caps.
New Icon Springs, Fox 2.0 Shocks, American Racing Wheels, 17 BFGs
In no way am I talking crap about Fox Shocks, but mine started rusting around the top and bottoms in 6 months. I was religious about cleaning my first X and always waxed the shocks after every bath which was atleast once a week. I wouldnt want what happened to mine happen to you. But I am in the rust belt too.
Will it work with your current grill? You've got a drop down bumper center section to accommodate the grill shell.
Also not sure if the mounting changed from the 11-16 production into the 2017's, but considering the F150's and SD's now share a cab it wouldn't surprise me if they revised the mounts on the frame like they did in the 2007-2008 redesign.
Last, how does the current bumped mount? Solid brackets to the frame? McNastyz bracket kit? I'd prefer a solid mount compared to an adapter bracket. Basically let the bumper take the impact and now have a tank of a bumper end up touching the engine front cover and taking out all the body panels and accessories in between...
Yeah the bumper will look very similar but be made for 11-16 style front end, no pics yet as it is not available. The frame mounts will have to be altered on any bumper I buy to fit properly and take impact. Trying to go with a bumper that can have a winch but not stick out so far. Rear bumper with tire carrier is next but just not sure where to start, possibly have one made.
That Trail Ready bumper shown above is now my personal favorite aftermarket front bumper that I've seen. What does it for me is the softer rounded angles and edges vs the sharp angles on nearly all other bumpers. That look matches the truck's sheetmetal so much better in my opinion.
Keep em in the glove box... I've experienced too many sticky fingers on previous Jeeps I've owned to leave accessories on the outside that aren't inaccessibley bolted down or locked.
