Thanks, No haven't messed with dash. Gonna do 2010 axles swap and lift next. Did you do the rear quarters? I do some work over in Cleburne and Fort Worth maybe I can stop by and see your dash progress if possible. Let me know when you get started. Could you PM badge info?
I almost did the rear panels but since I'm rolling 12.5" tires I was going to put flares on anyway and I lucked into saving myself some $! Since the shape of the fender ridge was the only difference the flares hide it. The actual body lines line up fine. Thank you Bushwacker. I'll pm you when I start my dash work. TSD "Truck Source Diesel" out of San Antonio made my billet badges and sent them off to be powder coated for me. I did buy the powder coat because I wanted it to match my paint color and that was special order. I think it was only like $350 or $375 for both badges.
Not quite sure about door badges, what do y'all think?
Maybe once lifted, with new wheels and tires it will grow on me.
Are these steps original on 05 Eddie Bauer?

I like the badges, but then again I have them on mine, so I might be a bit biased.
As far as the running boards, they are not original to the excursion and probably came off of a late model f250 crew cab.
I think at this point, you'll really need to get a lift and some wheels/tires to make everything look right and flow together.
Kind of like how the 2015 SuperDuty's don't look right unless they have a little bit of lift to them, the same I feel applies to your Excursion now... With the updated front end, there's a LOT going on compared to before. With the new headlights that're double the size of stock, etc...
Lift it, and please for the love of God don't put a set of wheels on it that I can see on thirteen different trucks in one day driving around Houston.
Yeah, wheels are gonna be an issue, there in nothing I really like. I've got 3 BMF Novakanes 20x9 my buddy gave me, trying to find used 4th. Gonna run them until I find what I like. Got any suggestions? I think I'm leaning towards black wheels.
@PSU- I believe those boards started on the 02+ trucks. It is difficult to narrow down which came with them from the Factory as there is so many variations.
@5HUB I agree with Matt. A lift, wheels and tires will tie the door badges in well. Some AMP steps and blacked out wheels would be perfect IMO.
Looks great so far. Projects like these are never done.
I vote American Force wheels! I love mine! I see them on trucks in magazines and videos but I almost never see people rolling them on the road. Even at dyno days there isn't very many people rolling Forces's at least in my area. One piece Forged 6061 aluminum wheel with a structural lifetime guarantee made in USA. Doesn't get any better than that in my book. And before someone jumps on me about how expensive they are It's like I said in another post. We love are trucks and want to buy cool stuff for them that makes them even more awesome to own and drive! If you want it and it makes you feel good to buy it and put it on your truck then do it! Life's too short to say "I'll do it someday!" or "I wish I would've!" NO SIR! When I'm driving around in my truck or open the hood for someone I get a warm tingly feeling and a smile that doesn't go away! Till I open my wallet! LMAO!

I was in the same boat as you when it came time to upgrade wheels. I ended up keeping a close eye on CraigsList and jumped on the set I have now when they popped up. Damn near stole them too at $400 for a full set of 18x10 -25 forged Weld Daggers. Main reason I was all over them is they've been discontinued for nearly two years, and I have never seen another set around here.
I don't think all black would go quite as well, but a nice set of gunmetal or anthracite or whatever they're calling them these days would look great on there. Perhaps with a powder-coated/painted lip to match the rest of the truck, but that will most likely be a little bit too 'bro-dozer'. I think the wheels will be the hardest part of your build... they'll either make or break the look of the rig. You know as well as I do that there's a ton of Excursion and full-size rig's rolling around here and the variety that's already pounding the streets makes picking something unique that much harder.
I stumbled upon the Fuel Cleaver when LivingLarge was asking for advice on what wheels to run. They are definitely an aggressive styling, but I really like the look of them. IMO, I think the chrome center with black lip would work well with your overall color scheme, although the all black would look good as well - especially with the single milled edge on each blade. White is one color that can pull off the chrome look pretty well, although I believe the amount of chrome on the vehicle has a lot to do with the cohesiveness.
Yes those running boards are original. my buddy has an 05 EB X with the same boards. I don`t like them because they hang to low and collect dirt and snow!
A little curious on your input regarding the wheels I posted up earlier. Just trying to get a feel for your styling tastes for future window shopping, or in case I see something pop up somewhere local.
I haven't got a clue, gonna try to get my AMP steps installed tomorrow and gonna check out a bunch of wheels at American Wheel and Tire. Still have some time my 4 link kit is 30 days out.
